No longer a winner. This was a fav...not any more! After soup and an app. I was given a plate for my entree ... only it had a dead roach on it. The waiter didn't even notice it!!! He just served it up. At that point, my entree was a check. Sept. 9th, 2011.

Mustard Greens redefines Chinese Food Restaurants. When you eat at Mustard Greens, you are treated like a regular and a friend from the very first time until the 40th time. They manage to make extremely flavorful food,

fresh ingredients every time, and quite healthy. We crave their shredded "firecracker" pork with ginger and scallions. Even their pork fried rice is light, healthy, and super flavorful.

This is not your run of the mill "Chinese Food Take Out" - so much better. We usually eat in the restaurant, because the service is so attentive and quick. They will also do take out.

They recently underwent a classy understated remodel, with very soothing colors and clean lines. Makes for a great informal eating experience.

Penny Pinching Disaster. $7 side dishes (no rice/noodles included with entree) and a whopping extortionist $15 corkage charge. All adds up to a NEVER TO BE VISITED AGAIN experience. We argued this ridiculous charge with the manager- gave him every opportunity to rescind- but his business acumen dictated that a $15 dollar inflated charge was way better than a returning customer spending over $50 on food. Shame on your short-sightness.‎

We love this place!. Everytime I go to Mustard Greens I wonder why I don't go there more often! Bon and his charming staff are so cordial, the food is just delicious and the atmosphere is that of a perfect little city restaurant "find".

Best Chinese in Philly. Mustard Greens serves the most subtle, light, Cantonese influenced Chinese in Philadelphia. The menu is standard (dumplings, fried rice, General chicken, MooShu pork), so at first, you don't expect much. But this isn't your normal overly cooked, covered in sauce, Chinese. The ingredients are fresh, prepared with delicate seasoning, and delicious. The dumplings are the best ever! The fried rice is light and tasty. As the name promises, you can even get Mustard Greens (is that a Chinese dish?)--lightly sauteed with just a pinch of salt and garlic--fantastic!

fresh and delicious and inexpensive. When you go out to dinner, the basic expectations are a clean comfortable setting, friendly efficient service, and delicious food. Mustard Greens is the perfect neighborhood restaurant, the polite staff and understated decor give this casual spot an inviting feel, and the presentation of freshly prepared food that tastes as good as it looks, makes this place downright cozy. Granted we went on a Monday, so i'm sure the weekends can be a bit more hectic, but after eating there once i would gladly wait for a table, or even an extra few minutes for my order if business merited. We shared two entrees and a side, which was plenty for us to be very satisfied, and i recommend trying all three. The beef with walnuts, and chicken with nectarines were light in flavor, hints of ginger and garlic left nothing to be desired. The dishes were seasoned perfectly, and lightly sauced, the vegatables were bright and crisp, obviously fresh and not overcooked . With every bite the flavor of each component was apparent, nothing masking or overwhelming another. The nectarines were soft and sweet, sugar snap peas cruchy, the beef tender and flavorful and the walnuts added the perfect nutty flavor. The mustard greens themselves were the must try for the evening, being the namesake, and didn't dissapoint. They were crisp and crunchy with perfectly wilted leaves and just a touch of oil, again lightly seasoned so as not to interfere with the character of the dish letting the delicate flavor shine through. There are so many reasons i can list as to why my date and i agreed this is one of our new favorites. But so as not to bore i will simply say, if you want to enjoy good food inexpensively and appropriately priced, go to Mustard Greens it is a quality dining experience.

A fresh interpretation of classic Cantonese cooking off the beaten South Street path.. In Short
Spare and light, Mustard Greens' atmosphere matches its cuisine. The quiet restaurant feels miles away from nearby South Street. The General Tso's chicken goes easy on the batter, covered in a slightly sweet sauce. Fragrant herb broth shows off the freshness of jumbo shrimp, while black bean or ginger an scallion sauce enhances steamed salmon, tilapia and shredded pork without weighing down main ingredients.

bad service. I have been there a couple of times and the server i had was not good. We were never asked what we wanted to drink, and forget refills. Another time my friend and I had to share a tea cup because they never brought a second one, the table was set without it and after we brought it to their attention it was ignored. On the plus side the food was really good, but the expreience is sacrificed by bad service.

cozy spot.... this place was cozy. the food was fine. nothing really special. i ordered the stuff egg plants (superb), crab fried rice (just ok), beef with peaches i think (weird combo but fine), and sesame chicken (skip that). Service was great and helpful, the prices was reasonable, but it's not somewhere i would go occassionally.
