Editorial Review for Crash Bang Boom – by Lauren McCutcheon

In Short
Fashions here are tongue-out tough (so don't be fooled by the errant sheer, feathered top in baby pink -- a tribute to Pamela Anderson?). Silver studs, black vinyl, bright red plaids are de rigueur. Labels like Lip Service, Tripp, Dogpile and Gripfast have been around since day one, as has sizeable collection of subversive T-shirts. Seriously soled shoes and boots are hardcore durable; mini skirts are extra mini; tight rock-star pants beg to be torn. Adornments come in the form of clunky silver rings, spiked leather bracelets, brilliant wigs and a rainbow of hair dye.

Zipperhead is an amazing store. They are small and keep it non-corporate. Yea, they may not seem to be the "happiest" people in the world, but thats becasue they know who the asses and the people who just go in there to be "cool" are. Rob is one of the nicest people I've ever met. There's nothing bad to say about Zipperhead.

Pros: Never crowded, Great selection, Great shoes

Cons: A bit expensive

I went on a trip to Philadelphia, and on South Street, Zipperhead definately caught my eye. I'm into the whole punk scene, so I had to check it out. Awesome clothes, great accessories, and wild wigs. I loved it.

Pros: easy to find, great punk selection, not crowded
