BEST Gyros in the city!. Order the Mediterranean Gyro, it's the best. Not in the mood for a gyro? Order whatever sounds good to you on the menu. I'm sure you will enjoy it! Great Falafel too

Best Grilled Platters. If ever in South Philly, this is a must. One block from Geno's and Pat's Steaks. You won't find cheese steaks and fries here... But you will find the absolute best grilled chicken I've every had anywhere. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is unique. You can sit in and eat or take out. Vareity/grocery store attached is well stocked with every imagineable item you'd enjoy. Food is always fresh; 5 or more different types of Feta cheese (Greek, French, etc.); the pita bread is delivered fresh every morning. They also do catering for any size affair/group. They provide everything you would need, and more... I highly recommend Bitar's to anyone looking for the BEST grilled food!

Open sesame: South Philly outpost serves solid Mediterranean food at magically affordable prices. In Short
Two doors lead to Bitar's. One opens into the dining area, where customers place orders and eat along a counter or at high tables. The second entrance goes to a tiny Mediterranean market selling dried apricots, candied chickpeas, pomegranate syrup and Persian cold wax. Bitar's sandwiches come rolled in a pita, including the Angelo Cataldi, a flavorful combination of marinated string cheese, roasted pepper spread and grilled chicken.

Far away but so worth it.. A co-worker took me here and I was surprised. I was not a fan of Middle Eastern food before and Bitar's changed that. I had the grilled chicken platter and it was awesome. If you are ever in the neighborhood you have to drop by. They even have a small grocery store attached to the take out that has a lot of cool stuff.

Yum Yum. Excellent food and friendly people. Always remembered my face and what I like. A great place to stock up on fresh pita, baked sweets and spices! And the sandwiches are sooooo gooood!
