Sam D'Amico. Sam and Damien are some of the nicest and honorable musical sales equipment people that I have ever met. Sam has been a friend as I have grown as a drummer and have purchased numerous pieces of drum equipment from him, down through the years. I have lived in Delaware for almost 10 years and have tried to contact the store via phone, but wa a bit concerned when I got a disconnected message. I hope he is o.k. and still has the store. Can someone provide an update on Sam for me? It would be appreciated.

Part store, part meeting place for drummers of all ages and styles, this South Philly institution has been serving musicians for years.. In Short
Sam D'Amico's Drum Center doesn't look all that different from the typical South Philly row home. When you peer in the unassuming storefront, however, you are greeted with a drummer's dream house: a small room crammed with sticks, pedals, drum heads and other accessories. Walk in and you will probably be greeted (by name if you've been here more than twice) by Sam himself, sitting in his tiny office behind the counter. He's been a drummer and a music salesman for more than 40 years and he has a gallery of photos of himself hobnobbing with drumming greats to prove it.

Soft touch Sam. I've been going to this shop since I was a teenager. He always had the most obscure old parts for those of us that couldn't afford a brand new kit. He would spend the time finding these parts, so you could piece together your ailing kit, and continue to play, and always treated you with respect, even if your sale was only a whopping $20. I made a vow to myself, that when I could afford a brand new kit, I'd pay Sam back for all his toil by buying it there. Bought my 1st deep red Ludwigs from Sam. Sold 'em and bought a Pearl kit in forest green [also from Sam] All these years later, I still go there. Just bought one of his personal snare drums. A pearl floating model, with steel shell. I don't play as well as Sam, but his drum will grace Philadelphia clubs for years to come.

great place. Sam is one of the friendliest people around, he'll try to do anything for you. HEs such a pleasurable man, as like his staff. The store is a wonderful place to meet other drummers, and view the stock of accessories, and order drums of all kind for reduced prices.
