Bonks menu is a nice mixture pub fare and seafood. We take all major credit cards. Hope to see you soon!
Great Find!. I always wanted to try this place...mostly for the crabs. Don't know why we waited so long...they're awesome! Not a place I would bring little ones, but they've remodeled, the place looks great and we love the waitresses! I never experienced any of the things "betterman" posted about this place. We've been here 5 or 6 times and going back tonite.
Awesome place, great game day specials.
Try the crab bisque...its great. Expanded menu and specials give everyone something to choose from.

beautiful remodeling, cozy atmosphere, great people.
My husband and I discovered Bonks at a benefit being thrown for a slain police officer (Sgt. Steve Liczbinski). Although we did not stay long due to the crowd, we liked the friendly atmosphere and the coziness of the place. We returned the next weekend to try the food and we were happy with what we were presented with. for apps, the wings were not the typical tiny bar wings, and the mild sauce was tangy and tasty. My husband ordered the snow crabs with garlic and butter (moms style) and I ordered the dungeness crabs. Both of us were quite pleased. After speaking with the owner's mother, whom everyone apparently calls "mom," we found out that the benefit we attended was the second benefit for Sgt. Liczbinski held at Bonks, and that Bonks had hosted several others for fallen police officers since they took over in 2007.
The beer selection was nice (so my husband says), and after he made a request for his favorite beer (Dogfish Head 90 min IPA), we found it in stock upon our next visit. Its nice to see a place cater to requests!
Inexpensive & nice atmosphere but the food ... not so good.. My wife and I went by Bonk's after running some errands on a Sunday. The atmosphere is nice - it's a good looking old style corner pub with lots of room and a comfortable place to spend some time. The bartendress was very nice too. Then the food came ... ugh. A fried shrimp appetizer was so over-seasoned that my face heart from salt. The standard cheeseburger doesn't come with fries and it was absolutely a frozen Bubba burger or something they slapped on the skillet. Really pretty poor. On the plus side, drafts were $1 on Sunday and overall it was about as cheap as you could expect: six pints of Lager, an order of fried shrimp and two cheeseburgers for $24! That meal would have cost $50 or more at many other city pubs. I'd suggest it as a place to have a few brews and some wings or something on a Sunday but that's the last time I order a meal there.
Bonks Bar Thumbs Down. I was at Bonks Bar about 6 times crabs are OK but the service is bad its crowded with one waitress most times and then when ther is extra help around they stand in the back and when your done with your food you have to remove your own plates you have to put them on the bar to get rid of them.If you have a complaint you might as well talk to the wall, because if the food is cold or you don't get enough , especilly crab balls, simply thats the way it is. Not a sorry or don't worry its on the house.
Port Richmond secret cooks up crabs at its small nautical-themed bar..
Located near a hub of shipping activity--the Delaware River and the factory loading bays across the street--it's not unusual to find truckers feasting on seafood and washing it all down with a beer. Steeped in a secret broth that's been passed down from generation to generation, Bonk's crabs are sweet, messy and cheap. During summer weekends, there's a wait for seats, which provides patrons an opportunity to soak in the atmosphere.
