First of all, don't be intimidated by the order-ahead system — it's super easy. Secondly, Tacc's is BYO for alcohol, but they won't raise an eyebrow if you bring sides, too. It's common to see big parties toting along Tupperware'd salads or boxed-up birthday cakes.

It's one of those no-ambiance, no-service, but amazing food type places. A real treat for out-of-towners that have never had real pizza.
Caviar of Pizza. By far the best pizza in the area - frequented by the food network and David Rosengarten. Call as early as you can to reserve your dough -they often sell out before they open.
Tacco's the best in the US!!. I've eaten pizza all over the country including the supposed best pizzas in NY, Chicago and New Haven. Philly in general is a bad pizza town, but Tacconelli's white pie with tomato is absolutely the best pizza i've ever tasted. It's amazing. I can't believe these people call it the worst they've ever eaten. Yes, it's a different type of pizza than the rubber, cardboard garbage that most Philly people get from their local corner pizza shops. It's not even close. So tell all the doubters to stick with their Pizza Hut, Papa Johns and Dominos. It's hard enough getting a pie at this pizza mecca. We don't need people who don't enjoy fine food to be taking our dough.
I'm a believer. When my friends took me there they were carrying on for the longest time about how great the pizza was. There's good pizza out there, but c'mon, how can good can pizza get? I'm now a believer. Pricey pie, but worth it. Thin crust, my favorite. Don't overload on toppings, you don't need to. The white pizza (just crust and cheese), is remarkable. Try the white pizza with tomatoes or spinach.
Tried the rest, now try the best!. I have had the pizza there for thirty years. The crust is so good and the white pie with spinach is the best.
Worst pizza in philadelphia.
ON a scale of 1-10 I would rate this Pizza a 3.
Flavor of the cheese and sauce was poor.
Crust was burnt.
The best pizza. I LOVE TO EAT! ...here the pizza is great-a variety of toppings to spice up the white pizza. (try white with onion!) The dough is made FRESH, so you have to order in advance or you won't get your pies. The pizza is thin so it's crispy, NOT raw and doughy like some places. Melts in your mouth!
The Worst.
The worst pizza I've ever had in my life. Went to see what the hype was about. Cardboard with
tomato paste. Go see for yourself. I can't understand what gives this place such a high rating.
And at $10 bukc a pie. What a rip.
Over Rated.. This restaurant is totally over rated. The only way this restaurant sounds good is the fact that you need to make reservation for the pizza dough, and that attracts people. This place is not the place to go for non-smokers. The pizza was good but not that good. How can people say Tacconelli's is good when they use can mushrooms? What happened to FRESH ingredients? Overall I would rank Tacconelli's the same as Papa Johns or Pizza Hut but better than Dominos. Zagat's is wrong.
Outstanding. Consistently the BEST pizza I have ever had over the past 15 years. The White with plum tomatoes and basil is just outstanding.
Best Toppings Anywhere. While I overall place them a step below Trenton's DeLorenzo's Tomato Pie on both sauce and cheese, the toppings at Tacconelli's may well be the best in the world. They're certainly better than any other pizza place around. Amazing sausage, tomatos, and garlic, just to name a few. Don't forget to reserve your dough!
