In Short – This family-style pizzeria is so popular it asks customers to call a day ahead to reserve pizza dough. Once inside, patrons find a jukebox filled with Italian and lounge-hall favorites, plus table and booths fashioned to fit a few generations. Watch the pizza makers sling the pies deep into the oven with an enormous pizza peel. The pie's thin crust and interesting combination of toppings are the draw here, especially the white pizza.

The Legend Grows

by Murrayman at Citysearch

I laugh at the folks giving this joint bad reviews because of poor service due to not being fawned on by a busy waitstaff populated by folks from a tough neighborhood who really don't want to hear about it. To me it all adds to the charm. Who doesn't like gettin called 'Hon' by a surly woman with a bazooka bra and comfy shoes from Payless? Are you kidding me? Offer courtesy and you'll do fine. Quite frankly I'd take a kick to the kids to ensure I had a shot at getting what I feel is simply the best pizza I've ever had - the white pizza. It defies description. Just reserve your friggin' dough, go there with patience and beer, and order the white pizza and then whatever else you can think to eat. Don't forget to reserve too much dough. Yes, you're going to wait. I defy anyone to have leftovers sitting in their fridge after, eh I don't know, 24 hours we'll say.

  • Pros: Kick in the Groin Worthy Pizza
  • Cons: Spoiled HIpsters With an 'I'm Special' Complex

by bajoba at Citysearch

Never seen a place. To blend in with locals BYO beer/wine/salad/cake - all they make is pizza. And it is very good.

  • Pros: Great pies - style/prep/cheese/sauce
  • Cons: Waitresses ran hot / cold - Hot when it was time to tip.

Not worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!

by brutus at Citysearch

Drove in excited to taste the pizza that is supposed to highly rated. The waitress was rude and gave horrible service. If they don't know you as a regular they totally give you bad service and basically ignore you during your whole meal. The waitress had a rude attitude, she took our order and then never came back to check on us or offer us refills. She would talk to other customers who were regulars minutes at a time while we waited for service. Getting a box and our check was like asking for a million dollars. The pizza is overrated and we ordered two with each one cooked differently. I would never go back and would recommend that you don't waste your time if your thinking about going there.

  • Pros: none
  • Cons: Rude staff, bad service, inconsistent pizza
