Editorial Review for Tacconelli's Pizza – by Kent Steinriede

In Short
This family-style pizzeria is so popular it asks customers to call a day ahead to reserve pizza dough. Once inside, patrons find a jukebox filled with Italian and lounge-hall favorites, plus table and booths fashioned to fit a few generations. Watch the pizza makers sling the pies deep into the oven with an enormous pizza peel. The pie's thin crust and interesting combination of toppings are the draw here, especially the white pizza.

Know Before You Go

Pizzas must be ordered a day in advance to avoid the 90-minute-plus wait due to crowds and volume of pies made per day.

I have tried a lot of pizzas, & I love pizza. What I can tell you is that this is nothing more than average. I was actually angry that I drove all that way & fussed with parking for such a mediocre pie. Dont believe the hype.

Tacconelli's Pizza is an experience that should be had by all. Thin crust that is baked to perfection in the original oven of years ago is the perfect base to these pies. The pizza with cheese is tomato sauce with just enough cheese to lightly cover. The flavor of the sauce isn't hidden by anything and compliments the crust and it is "incredible" . The pizza with cheese and sausage was another combination that we couldn't keep on the pan long enough to cool off. Our last Masterpiece was the Cheese with pepperoni and the kids were done with that in minutes. The sauce here is the greatest and should be bottled for resale, athough recreating the crust would be impossible. We had 3 adults and 4 boys 8 -10 and we ate 4 pies no problem, next time we will get 5. Call in and order your dogh now!!

Pros: pizza, service, location

Cons: could use more seating
