A Great Northeast rib joint? Try merely good..
In Short
John Wayne's portrait surveys the modest dining room of this mainly take-out strip mall rib joint. Wagon wheel chandeliers and captain's chairs adorn eleven simple tables. The menu offers tender spareribs in a syrupy sauce, BBQ chicken and "Texas Style" Beef Ribs. The steak fries are filing as are the Kaiser rolls, but the tart coleslaw has a welcome vinegary kick and the creamy homemade rice pudding is comforting.

this place is why God created chickens.
First, if you love Carolina-style BBQ, & miss it since BIG JIM'S closed, this is not your place. But these folks do what they do better than any body else around. Lise's review got it about 1/2 right. their spare ribs are terrific & the baby backribs are great. She nailed it re the beef ribs, but if she thought the sauce was "syrupy & bland", she didn't try the hot sauce! And as far as chicken is concerned, it's to die for!
Their BBQ'd chicken is simply THE BEST.
Go there HUNGRY on Wednesday for all you can eat. It's worth the 40-mile roundtrip I make at least monthly.
Oh, by the way, Castor & Aramingo is NOT the northeast. Try "Port Richmond".

Great ribs. Don't go here for the ambiance - there isn't any. But, the Ribs are great!
