Worth the time of day (Fairmount Park).
Growning up in this city, I must say that the past 30 years I've seen a complete turn around inside Fairmount Park, that everyone should come back, even the deers came back. I wasn't the outdoorsman until last year when I decided to take the 8 mile walk and run path up Kelly Dr, and back down MLK Dr alongside the river banks, is when I seen the park for what it's worth. Take a day and go through the trails, see the wildlife and enjoy the bike paths. This park shouldn't be a secret anylonger...

Lose yourself in the world's largest landscaped city park..
In Short
Stretching from the northwestern edge of Center City to the far reaches of northwest Philadelphia, Fairmount Park is one of the city's jewels. With thousands of acres, two million trees, historic houses and the Schuylkill River, Fairmount Park is where the city goes to get together or to get away from it all. Families can visit the Philadelphia Zoo or get some exercise by running or biking down Kelly Drive.

history buffed.
As an avid History Channel viewer, I was dismayed when they had a segment on great parks and our jewel, Fairmount Park, was not mentioned. Central Park, Griffith Park, and Candlestick Park can all fit inside Fairmount Park with room to spare! There is no reason to keep this park system a secret, the world should know about this valuable asset to our great city!
