Tips for Rembrandt's Restaurant & Bar

A Great Dining Experience. We went on a Thursday night and sat in the tavern section (not the fine dining section). This place is wonderful and great for a secluded, romantic evening. It's dim, but not dark and not too crowded. The food is absolutely delicious and not at all overpriced. Also, the waiter paid attention to what we needed, but outside of that, was barely there -- we really liked this because it gave us some privacy. Overall, this is one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time.

French Onion Soup. That's all you need to know. They have an amazing Brunch and some mighty fine French Onion Soup. Check it out. I would make a reservation.

A charming unpretentious oasis. As the restaurant revolution is coming to it's zenith in Philadelphia with outrageously overpriced food and pretentious ambience, Rembrandt's is always a classic. I'm a concierge in Center City and Rembrandt's makes my job easier. Special thanks to Jan and Angela for making my dining experience so memorable on 2/24/06.

Lock me up in this place!. Situated right next to the Eastern State Penitentiary, I would not be upset to be locked up inside this place with their terrific Sunday brunches, cheerful staff and delicious drinks. Not to mention the eye candy one might find working here....yowza!!! Overall , the experience has always been a good one. I recommend you to try the Mediterranean Omelet if you happen to make it out for a Sunday brunch. It is made up of feta cheese, olives and roasted red pepper and it is just fantastic! Also, the spicy grille chicken sandwich was quite good. Don't miss out on this place.

Hidden Gem. We came across this restaurant b/c of an Entertainment book coupon. It was a pleasant surprise. We ordered the cheese plate for an appetizer. Wonderful! The crab and scallop linguine didn't disappoint either. My only point of contention was that gratuity was automatically added after I presented the Entertainment card. A disconcerting end to an otherwise delightful dinner.

excellent. What an excellent restaurant! All of my experiences have been positive! Great food, great staff! If in the bar ask for the paisano burger. If in the dining room get the special.

food was good, service was painfully slow. Went to Rembrandt's for the 1st time ever with a party of 7. Food was excellent - among the memorable items were the duck, filet and linguine with crab and scallops. Service was SO slow! We were sitting around with empty beer and wine glasses for at least 20 minutes before anyone even approached us. I guess they don't need the overhead. I'd go back, maybe the were short servers, but only because the food was so good. Very cute place, ambiance is nice.

Rembrandt's. We've always had an enjoyable time at Rembrandt's. Special kudo's to the chef, Peter, for his excellent work.

Fabulous Sunday Brunch. I recently ate at Rembrants for the Sunday Brunch. I was very surprised how good the food was, the large portions and low prices! That is something you do not find often in Philly. I had a tender pork/spinach/parmesan cheese/sun dried tomato sandwich with hash browns. A lot of things on it but it was delicious! My husband had a large serving of Eggs Benedict that was also superb. I highly recommend the brunch because the music was also very nice. It gets full in there fast so come early!

Tennis Shoes = Bad Service. Decided to check out this place on a Sunday, local to were my girlfriend lives. We stopped in for Brunch, thought the place looked cozy but opted for the bar seating since we were wearing jeans and tennis shoes. We thought the service was good until a group of four came in after us (in Sunday church attire) and was given a list of specials and a more courteous attitude from the same waitress. Could it be that we were not "dressed to spend"? The food was great even though we had to wait 30 minutes for a salad and an omlette (the group next to us got theirs in 10.) Another place where your service depends on how big your wallet looks.
