In Short
Located alongside Main Street's snazzy boutiques, this cafe gets its fair hare of the beautiful people through its glass door. There are Fima Deruta cups and saucers, a mahogany bar, bistro chairs and a changing collection of local art. There's a daily selection of light sandwiches: smoked salmon, jambon and gruyere, tuna or veggie, served on freshly baked Italian rolls. You'll also get the standard croissants, danish, muffins and biscotti, while they last.

La Colombe Torrefaction, for my money the best coffee bar in the country, has two locations: the original one at 19th Street and Rittenhouse Square, and on Main Street in Manyunk. The Manyunk shop serves paninis and salads in addition to the coffee. Whether it's espresso, cappuccino, mocha, or a latte, nothing beats La Colombe!!

This is the best coffee in Philadelphia, hands down. The sandwiches are excellent and they have outdoor seating.

I never liked coffee. I've given my money to the Starbucks corporation. I've even tried to brew my own coffee. I heard about La Columbe Panini and gave it a try. I ordered a Double Mocha and after a few teaspoons of sugar (without the medicine going down), I was in love. Each sip of my coffee was delicious, flavorful. Not watery at all. La Columbe Panini doesn't have massive couches, but it was cute with the mosaic-like tables along the windows and wooden chairs. People mingle with each other, students read over their textbooks and notes ... all while enjoying delicious cups of Columbe coffee. I quickly became a regular. La Columbe Panini is the best Manayunk coffee shop!
