Sweaty college house party. Having been to this place a few times now, I can say this one of my favorite places to go and dance. It has a great beer selection, but if you get there around 11 p.m. , there's limited seating and not much room to stand - the place is narrow. The three single toilet bathrooms are unisex, and lines often form starting early in the night - weird fact to give, but when you have had 4 beers, the line takes forever to get through. I'd describe this place similar to a college house party, but it's not college and it's a 2 floor bar. This is not the place to go dressed up in your finest club digs. A fun t-shirt and jeans plus some comfy sneakers (but hip) are your best bet. If you are dancing, wear deoderant because you will get sweaty on the dance floor. I agree with one of the reviews that the crowd is pretty quirky, but everyone is there to shake it, and not always very well. Careful of the drunk kids who like to dirty dance or throw their friends around, they'll bump into you and you may get annoyed if you don't figure out that 1. it's a really small dance floor and 2. almost everyone is drunk or on who knows what. The DJ on Saturday nights rarely disappoints, spinning everything from Snoop Dogg to Boyz II Men (crowd always sings along to "Motown Philly") to James Brown. The best part with the music is he doesn't play the whole song, and seemlessly switches from song to song to keep the mix fresh and keep everyone moving. I definitely recommend this place to go with a group of friends to dance.

Party at Grandma's House. Totally worthwhile nighttime excursion to get drunk and dance your pants off. Some nights the DJs are more on then others, but when they gel and don't get too into themselves it's golden. Being that it's really on and off, you can go one night and have trouble even getting to the dance floor upstairs, and other nights, it's you, your friend, and the bartender and his buddy who stopped by.

This converted home is a Northern Liberties nightlife stalwart.. In Short
Downstairs, sit at the long bar, which is stocked with brandies and a wide assortment of beers on draft, and chat up fellow customers or the friendly bartenders. Upstairs, lounge on vintage furniture while DJs spin out of a former shower stall. The crowd changes over from locals with dogs to hipsters when the DJ drops the needle on the evening's first platter. Part neighborhood bar, part hip hangout.

Nerdy... in a good way. Totally dorky kids dancing their hearts out... The place is set up perfectly for a good party--completely dark dance floor [conveniently hiding your crappy moves], cushioned chairs facing each other [close enough to talk some Chomsky] and cheap beers on tap. I think I'm in love. If you don't like it, you probably don't belong there. Go back to Dave and Buster's.

So-so. I was not terribly impressed but it was a worthwhile bar to hang out or go for the music. A short jaunt from the Spring Garden Stop on the El. there is also a bus that goes up thrid street that'll take you there.
