This boisterous spot is classic Americana, with its sleek, silver art-deco exterior accented by the glow of neon. Patrons sitting at the long counter sip coffee and stare at tempting desserts within glass cabinets. Each booth is installed with an individual Seeburg Wall-o-Matic offering 25-cent access to the jukebox's rare 45s. The food is good here. Kind of higher end, upscale, and slightly more creative diner food. Booth and counter seating is nice. It is never that crowded. Staff is somewhat aloof.

This place is not bad it's just disappointing. It lacks the coolness and go back for comfort food that Mark B.'s other place North 3rd has and while it's way more than an old diner now, I still miss the original Silk City for it's simplicity and pocket value.

I love to frequent this spot when I am in town. Great food and ambience, and you cant go wrong with the waitstaff. Lauren always waits on me and never lets me down.
