Cafette is a charming little spot with terrific sandwiches, soups and salads. Don't miss dessert: the rotating selection is filling and delicious.
Cute neighborhood restaurant. Excellent casual restaurant. We had the chicken cacciatore and the parmesan tilapia. Both were delicious, as was the red velvet cake. Our service was fine- we didn't have long waits and the waitress was polite. Definitely recommend it!
okay food, but the WORST service in the area. We tried and tried to love Cafette, but it's just not meant to be. We live very close, so we've gone a dozen times, sometimes taking friends from out of town, sometimes alone... always for brunch or lunch. The food is okay, although a bit pricey for what you get, but certainly nothing too exciting. The specials are uninspired and - here's the real problem - THE SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. I'm a former waitress, so I certainly understand busy brunch shifts, but when the place is half empty, I shouldn't have to wait fifteen minutes after I've been seated to be acknowledged by my server, or wait ten more for my coffee. And this isn't a one-time occurrence. It's gotten to the point where it's every time we go. The place must be having some sort of staffing crisis. So after the most recent experience of *horrible* service for mediocre food, we're not going back. Sorry, Cafette, but you've lost two customers.
great little neighborhood place. i've been to cafette twice; dined outside both times. the experience is a bit like having dinner in an outdoor garden among friendly neighbors - with fantastic food. if you're a beef eater, you must try the cowboy steak. it's delicious, and a hefty size portion. the specials are always fresh and tempting. it's a BYO, a bonus of the budget conscious. be prepared to walk, though - parking can be a challenge. on the bright side, strolling through chestnut hill is always pleasant. it's also a short walk from the 23 bus or r7.
Unbelievable food--if you can find it!. I have lived in Chestnut Hill for years and never knew this little place existed. All those years of baseball right across the street at Water Tower--and I never came in! My girlfriends and I had the most delicious meal here--I'm definitely dragging my husband in next.
