Different, that's for sure!. As the Philly gay scene goes, Bike Stop certainly is an anomaly. It's not quite a club; not quite a neighborhood bar. There's live music, a weekly underwear party (called "Bulge"), a sports bar, and a leather enthusiast shop.

The crowd usually skews older but not always. It's definitely worth checking out but don't base your opinion on just one visit. Every night of the week brings a different crowd so give this place a few chances. One of the best things about Bike Stop is that you will almost definitely meet people you've never met at any of the other gay hangouts in town.

Security and staff rude if do not fit leather, bear type. As my friends and I enter the premises, we did not feel welcome based on the door mans attitude, moreover we came to play pool but the staff members were not polite. I believe my friends and I were too slim and too conservatively dressed for this bar. I do not believe I'll return again, but if bored I would return just to determine if it was just this night. If you are a chubby chaser, this is a great place to frequent. My friends and I do not discriminate because we are such a diverse group. Hopefully the rest of the world will follow and stop this separation; there is room for everyone.

Rough around the edges and liking it that way, this Levi and leather spot is inviting no matter what you're wearing.. In Short
On weekends, leather and Levi enthusiasts hang out on the cruisey first floor as well as down below in the even more cruisey Pit Stop. A mixed crowd of average joes, bears, and leather dykes watch the game on TV, play pool and shoot the breeze. Even if you don't fit into the biker or bear category, it's still a good place to hang out. The second and third floors are definitely more comfortable for those who are leather- or fur-challenged.

Definitely worth a swig or two. Definitely only for the off the normal beat bear, bondage and leather crowds. Nice masculine men on occasion. Normally nice staff. Worth hanging out in. More into the upstaris Short Stop Sports Bar.

Needs Renovations. The Bike Stop is in serious need of renovations and modernization. This place definately needs new management which will not cut corners.

Bears Oh my!. This is a good friendly bear bar, where the locals like to meet for drinks and good conversations. Although leathermen are abound, the bears certainly rule this roost. certain nights dress code enforced, and the pit is a must to visit.

To each his own -- not for me.... After the third time going there, I am convinced the beer-guzzling, overweight bear crowd is happy there. More power to them. Good beer and friendly bartenders, though. Definitely no Washington Eagle.

Needs Help and Renovations. The Bike Stop can be a nice place to chat, but the place is in need of help. It needs renovations and the staff could be more friendly.
