Editorial Review for Lee How Fook – by Michael Alarcon

In Short
This small family restaurant contains classic round tables, lazy susans and a friendly waitstaff. Lee How Fook seems to be a place for meetings and celebrations--goodbye parties, parents visiting college kids. Try the straightforward steamed dumplings of pulled pork, flavorful Singapore noodles and arguably the best hot and sour soup in town. The kitchen is most famous for its hot pots, steaming terrines containing oysters and ginger and earthy mushrooms or abalone with chicken.

Very authentic food....the Wonton soup was awesome and so are the hot pots....service is a bit lacking since there only seemed to be one server there....but we sat next to a couple who have been eating here for the last 37 years...I can see why. I wish I lived in Philadelphia! :-)

Pros: Great food, very inexpensive

Cons: service is a bit slow

My husband and I met in China and we wanted to have our rehearsal dinner at a chinese restaurant. We tried many restaurants before realizing that Lee How Fook did banquets. I reserved the date and was a little unsure about how the small restaurant with the back alley entrance would go over with our out-of-town guests. In the end it was wonderful, the food was fantastic, the service was excellent. I was really impressed with how the staff handled our event, they let me drop off the liquor a few days before. The cost of the event was extremely cheap given the quality of the food and service. This ended up being my favorite night out of our wedding weekend thanks to the staff at this restaurant.
