Aaaaaaamazing italian food!. Love Love Love this place! Great portions, Great ambience, grrreeaaat food! I have been coming to this restaurant for years, and it never gets old to me. I heard they are redoing some things at the restaurant, I hope they dont change much, because I truly love what this place has to offer.
Fresh Seafood!. Came in to Portofino for dinner while in town on business. This place was great! Since I was dining alone I decided to take a seat at the bar. The bartender was very pleasant and attentive. I was verbally told the specials, and decided to try the tuna special. It was amazing, cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. The bartender paired the perfect wine with my dish. I wish a lived closer, because I defiantly would be coming here often. If you live in Philadelphia or you are just visiting, then you really must try this place.
Great Deal for Lunch!. A couple co-workers and I came here for lunch the other day. The food was amazing and the servers were quick and friendly. To top it off I was shocked when our bill came and it came out to only $10 per person...Wow! I will be back again for lunch and might even try to bring my husband here for dinner.
Needs to learn how to run a business....
I can't give this restaurant less than one star, which is unfortunate, because after the experience my wife and I had, I am SHOCKED that this place received any good reviews to begin with. I don't know if the management has changed recently, or if the service staff were trying to get fired, but no one in this entire place treated us with respect. I wanted to be able to enjoy the Manicotti, but was far too disgusted watching the manager oggle female staff (and customers!) every time he passed through the room. He took our order himself, and made us feel like complete morons for not knowing what we wanted. He would not take his eyes off my wife the entire time (to the point where she wanted to leave). We rushed through our dinner and left.
Terrible. I will not be dining here again.
Special Lunch. I came here for lunch with group of co-workers. We were recommended to come here by a friend. A week later everyone is still talking about it in the office. The Food was outstanding and great portions, for an excellent price. Although we walked over form our office we were informed that if we come back for dinener we can get discounted parking in the nearby garage. The ambience was beatiful and the
YUM!.
I had read mixed reviews about this place (though most of them were positive) and prior to seeing Wicked, I thought I would check this place out.
I was pleasantly surprised. Very friendly staff and the food was fantastic. They also give 20% discounts to ticket holders (games or theater!). I had the Pollo Bolognese, Bruchetta and Beef Carpaccio. Highly recommend all of them!
35 years of excellence.
Celebrating 35 years is a remarkable milestone for this pitiful restaurant, as innocent and ignorant dinners must be their sole means of income.
The place charges above what it promises to offer. The menu looks like a deli menu. Yet simple wine of 2008 is 10$ a glass. Crab cakes weren't real. They microwave frozen stuff, including mashed potatoes. Grilled stuff is served cold because they were made earlier. Waiters were oblivious and far from sweet or helpful. On Saturday night they can hardly fill up half of their tables. Their life is running out. And, for one, am not surprised. Waste of money, time and mood. Stay away!
Amazing food!!. For many years I have been dining out on weekends and somehow missed this spot. I can?t believe the quality of the food great service and unbeatable price. The location is convenient and parking is discounted. I couldn?t ask for more, this is my new favorite restaurant in town.
SIMPLY PUT - THE BEST!!!.
I have dined in Center City for many, many years but I have never before felt the need to write a review of any other establishment. If you're looking for quality, comfort, attentive service and the best food in town - IT'S PORTOFINO'S. Sorry that we didn't get to see Ralph (character that he is). Robert is the most graceous maitre'd who took the time to occasionally stop by our table to make sure we were well taken care of. Glen is attentive, polite and a waiter who makes sure that your meal is not just food on the table but a dining experience. The presentation was paced perfectly so that we felt relaxed rather than rushed and the fried calamari and the salmon is to die for.
I could write an epiphany, but simply put, Portofino is the best of the best.
I LOVE THIS PLACE. I CAME HERE THE OTHER NIGHT WITH MY GIRLFRIEND. SHE WAS A LITTLE UPSET WITH ME AND THANKFULLY I BROUGHT HER TO PORTOFINOS BECAUSE IT TURNED THE MOOD AROUND. THE STAFF WAS GREAT, THE FOOD WAS GREAT AND ON TIME! SHE LOVED THE WINE AND I LOVED THE PRICE. THANK YOU PORTOFINOS FOR SERVING US A GREAT EVENING.
