I was in Philly for a night and wanted to stay downtown, but was hoping to found something more interesting and less anonymous than a corporate hotel. Citysearch turned up The Thomas Bond House, and luckily they had a room open. It was just what I was looking for - a comfortable inn, right in the heart of the city. There are great restaurants and bars right out the door in Second Street, and I had time for a quick walk around the historic district and Society Hill. Highly recommended.
Pros: continental breakfast, very comfortable, great location!
