Editorial Review for Indigo Arts – by Lauren McCutcheon
In Short
This two-floor gallery/gift shop offers hand-crafted new and antique goods from as near as Mexico and as far as South Africa. The shop's elegantly rustic collections of decorations for the home and the body conjures images of gypsy romances, Wiccan shrines, Hindu weddings and African safaris. Though the Provencal dishes, essential oil candles, Putamayo CDs and brightly painted greeting cards lend a gift shop feel, the peculiar bits and pieces of folk art transform the shop into an eclectic foreign bazaar.

I love this shop! Aside from the fact that Indigo carries more beautiful imports, jewelry, artifacts, and gifts than anywhere else in Philadelphia, the shop has a colorful, warm, magical atmosphere and the owner & sales assistants are equally warm, sweet, kind, and magical. This has kept me coming back for presents for friends, family, and myself. The jewelry collection is affordable and utterly unique.
Pros: friendly staff, affordable, unique
