In Short – The bookstore stays that way by being very picky about what it buys from customers and dealers; bring in a bag of crap and you're going to leave with it. New items are so clean that they must be reviewers' copies--no notes and bent corners here. Of course you'll pay for the cleanliness and selection with prices slightly higher than other used book stores (new hardbacks usually go for half the list price), but it's worth it.
on every shelf, a gem!

great selection and everything was in very good condition. every shelf you turned to, seemed to have a gem! also, was tidy, dusted, and had a charming comfortable atmosphere. comfortable beat-up reading chairs, plus a wooden stool near each set of shelves - very considerate additions. also, serves tea/coffee and delicious little brownies. there are two cute little tables near the window (and the used cookbooks) for great people watching while waiting for a friend to finish digging through the stacks.
a wonderful find!
- Pros: great selection! clean, charming neighborhood store!
