O'Sooo Good!. I had a craving for some good Indian food and decided to check out Karma. I definitely made the right choice! I decided to try the butter chicken, saag paneer and garlic naan. The butter chicken taste O' So good, that I had to lick my fingers. All the dishes were spiced just right, and the Naan was warm and soft. The restaurant staff was quiet friendly and hostess was very inviting when I first walked in. The waiter was very attentive to my needs. The next time I'm down there I look forward to trying the tandoori chicken and chicken tikka masala.
Awesome and authentic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
the best indian food in philly ,great ambiance, well behaved staff and most importantly authentic and gr8 indian food.
I must say i have been to all indian restaurants in philly and this stands out.
Believe me u get the true taste of indian food.
i ve been here more than 6 times and vow to b back again.
Had better Indian curry in Mexico than what Karma offered,,,,.
Give me a break guys. I read all reviews and had to get to Karma, and what a disappointment . I have had better curries made by Chinese chefs than what Karma had to offer. The Kormas was if they mixed cream and curry powder microwaved it and splat it into a dish. Tikka Masala was a colored dish with a hint of creamy yoghurty sauce that had probably gone awry. Only plus was the dessert, but I am bias towards Gulab Jamun. being Indian i will go again to Karma but only if it was the last place for an Indian looking meal. Calling this a Northern Indian cuisine restaurant is an injustice to us Punjabis.........The Naan was good though. There were 4 of us 2 indians and 2 caucasians who never had Indian cuisine, and they loved it,,,,,go figure.
AND IF NO ONE HAS NOTICED THE GOOD REVIEWS ONLY TALK ABOUT GOOD FOOD AND SERVICE WITHOUT MENTIONING WHAT FOOD AS IF IT WAS WRITTEN BY KARMA MARKETEERS THEMSELVES!!!
Not consistent.
Was formerly a more upscale Indian/Pakistani restaurant. Now under new owners. I've been there twice recently and would say that the food is inconsistent. On my last trip, the food was lukewarm and some of the dishes were empty and not being refilled. Also, the prices is a little steep considering the lack of meat on the menu and the small number of dishes. Moreover, the food was very bland and too watered down for the average person. All in all, I think that I will look elsewhere for Indian/Pakistani food in Philly.
Lunch buffet: 8.99
exellent food, but very very very spicy.. My husband and I went there for dinner, and I really liked their deco. The food was great. You could tell the ingredients were very fresh. meat was so juicy and tender. One warning though... the curry was soooooooooo hoooooooooot..! I can eat just about any spicy food, but their "medium" wasn't not your typical "medium" so be careful. I agree with the previous reviewer.. their customer service wasn't their strength. They weren't mean or anything, but weren't the most friendly. But I would go again.. just because the food was so great.
Great Food, So-So Customer Service. My husband and I were in Philadelphia for a few days, and we love Indian food. We made reservations at Karma for our last night. While we were waiting for our table, a man came in to ask how long the wait would be. The host was very dismissive of this patron and waved him out the door. It made my husband and I, as well as the other couple waiting, very uncomfortable. I really enjoyed the food, drinks, and atmosphere. We had a few communication issues with the wait staff, but nothing that could be over come.
Awesome!. Great experience! Had a private party planned at the banquet on 2nd level and everything (service, bar, food) all were awesome. Banquet Manager worked with us personally to help pick up the apps and main courses and everything turned out to be really good. Will certainly go back!
Best Indian restaurant I've tried. Went with my husband on Sunday night. The service was great, helpful, and friendly. The decor and atmosphere are beautiful- nice artwork on the walls, classy ambience. The food was excellent and the best we've had yet in Philadelphia. We've already recommended Karma to several people and will definitely be back.
A Taste Of India. I was never one for Indian food. My friends took me on a tour of Philly and we ended up in Karma. I tried it, and I must say the food there is much better than your average Indian Restaurant. I enjoyed it so much it made me want to move to India just so i can have it every day. This place stands out from the rest. Better than all the Indian places I tried in NY. I'll be back
Incredible experience. The food was excellent. The ambience and service was absolutely excellent. I couldn't ask for anything more. Everyone enjoyed their food and we were always greeted with a smile.
