Excellent Salon. I have recently gone to Joseph Anthony to receive a blowout . I have visited the salon on several occasions and have been completely satisfied with each trip. Noelle possesses exception skills as a stylist and I would recommend her without a doubt to everyone I know. As a woman, the importance of good hair is crucial when going out for a night on the town. I am confident that with each visit I will leave feeling ready for a great night. Go, request Noelle I promise you will not regret it!!!
Best salon in University City !!!. A friend told me about Joseph Anthony's, so I decided to check it out. I went in and treated myself to a Mani/ pedi since they were running a great deal $28.00 for both which is unheard of !! It was very relaxing, The women who gave me the service was very gentle and had a wonderful relaxing touch. I also decided to get my hair done while I was there since I had some spare time. Dana did my color and i was very happy with my new look!! Take advantage of the Mani/ Pedi special if you can, it is well worth it!! I will be going back to this Salon again!!
Excellent waxing and pedicure, friendly atmosphere 9/9.
Recently I went to Joseph Anthony's for a bikini wax and pedicure. The aesthetician was gentle and
thorough, and gave attentive service. The atmosphere of the place was cheerful and bright.
I will be going back!
Top quality cuts in convenient location!....10/10.
If you want a great hair-cut from true professionals, this is the place to go!
Being a fairly new resident to Philadelphia and student at Penn, I've been in search for a place to get my hair cut. After going to several different places, I can confidently say Joseph Anthony offers the best service and in the area. I've been their multiple times since, and each time I leave completely satisfied. The staff are all courteous, caring and take absolute pride in what they do. They are less concerned with getting you in and out, and more concerned with taking their time and having you leave with a excellent hair cut.

The best one. My first time got my hair cut i t was at Joseph anthony hair salon i was a student at Drexel, i never found a better hair cut like the one i had at this salon ,and people who they work there are really friendly ,if you wanna go there ask for John :)
Worst Salon in Philly. This is the absolute worst place I have ever been. I don't even know why I went more than once. Every time that old man gets ahold of my head he butchers it. He misses entire sections and gave me the worst haircut of my life. He needs to retire because he obviously can't see what he's doing. The haircut is so bad that I already have an appointment with another salon to fix this atrocity. Absolutely pathetic. Don't EVER waste your money at this place.
Cut, Color and Wax. Started going here last year then went home and missed this place. I moved back to philly already getting ready for school and stopped in the salon for the works. I got a cut, highlights and splurged for a wax too. Will make it a regular treat especially after a big test - be a good place to de-stress.
Thank God I Found Them. At 20 something years old I already have some grey hair and was looking to get rid of it before this party I had. I was looking for a place in the area to get my hair colored and cut and a friend recommended this place to me. They were great - especially Pam who did a great job. Thanks, I'll be back in a few weeks for a shape up.
Not pleased.
My first (& only) visit to this salon was so awkward. I walked in & saw that all of the staff was busy cutting hair & no one was at the front desk. A few of the female workers looked up at me, and I smiled and started to ask a question, but they blatantly ignored me & turned away.
I found a seat in the waiting area where everyone else was waiting. About 10 mins passed and one of the women came over to get someone who was waiting. I started to ask her a question, and she turned away from me. It was so blatant that the guy sitting next to me remarked, "Guess they don't want to talk to you today."
A few minutes later, I sense that two of the female workers are talking about me (they look over, begin whispering & then roll their eyes - very highschool-ish), and then one of them walks over to the waiting area and said, "Do you have an appointment? What are you waiting for?" I said that I was a walk-in and wanted just a hair cut. As she walks away from me, she says, "Well you need to make an appointment."
I followed her up to the desk & said that this was my first time here & that I thought they accepted walk-ins. She claimed that they don't accept walk-ins & scheduled an appointment for 15 mins from that time (which is what I expected to wait as a walk-in anyway). She was incredibly rude, and I thought about just leaving, but the appt wasn't with her, & I really just wanted to get my hair trimmed.
The woman who cut my hair (older blond woman) was quiet, but nice. The cut was ok; my layers were trimmed awkwardly, making it look unblended & choppy.
I only went here because of its proximity to school & because I thought they accepted walk-ins (it clearly states on their website that walk-ins are welcome & appts are recommended for coloring & more in-depth services AND there were others who walked in for cuts, albeit they were guys).
I didn't like their unprofessional & rude attitudes, on top of the fact that it was not really a great cut. How hard would it have been for one of the workers there to greet me when I walked in and then just tell me to have a seat & someone will be with me shortly?
Since then, I've found a nicer, friendlier salon that has reasonable prices in Prospect Park.
the woooooooorst place on earth.
oh my god this place is absulutely horrible and the price is rediculous.the younger guy who cut my hair didn't even know what he was doing and he did exactly what i asked him not to do. it seemed like he was in a rush cause he finished up my cut in 10 min. he was extremely rude and unfriendly.
please please please don't go to this place this is the worst place i've ever been to in my whole life.
