Tips for Boyd's Philadelphia

Fashion landmark maintains classic and refined sensibility.. Philadelphia men’s fashion landmark maintains its classic and refined sensibility while adding contemporary men’s and women’s styles. It may be a relic from a more elegant era but 70-year-old Boyds remains as au courant and relevant as ever. This multi-tiered haberdasher that boasts grand staircases, columns and marble as far as the eye can see is still the favored designer clothier for fashionable politicians, news anchors, business leaders and socialites, especially since it expanded its traditional offerings of men’s professional and dress clothes to include a 10,000 square-foot women’s shop (including shoes) and a men’s sportswear department (including a “denim bar”). Complimentary wine and espresso, plus Raw, an on-site sushi café that serves lunch, sate the appetite of shoppers and their less enthused companions.

Great selection of upper-end men's clothing!. One of the nicest men's stores I've come across in my travels. Very attentive and helpful sales staff as well. I would recommend but bring your high limit charge card.

Great Men's Selection and B3 Boutique!. I have shopped at Boyds for men's gifts for the past few years. I have always been extremely happy with their selection and my gift receivers have always been ecstatic with their gifts. The employees have also always been friendly and very helpful. I recently stopped in for a birthday gift for my boyfriend, and I stumbled upon their new boutique, B3. I loved it! The whole store was so modern and I found great clothes for myself that I could not find anywhere else in Philadelphia. After shopping, I treated myself to a lunch at their Brasserie Perrier Cafe. I would HIGHLY reccommend Boyds' customer servce and selection to any Philadelphia resident or visitor.

Great Selection, Excellent Customer Service. I've shopped at Boyds a few times and have had nothing but positive experiences. I've bought a few suits and dress shirts - they were perfectly tailored. Additionally, the 3rd floor now has younger, hipper clothing, which is priced comparatively to what other retailers would charge for the same clothing. Plus, there's a cafe and Govberg Jewelers under the same roof - what's not to like?

found a Great suit at Boyd's. I was pleased to find a great suit at this Center City Store for men, and when I picked up my alterations, they were impeccably done. I would recommend this men's store to anyone, and although it was a little pricey, I got what I was looking for.

Three floors and more than 60 years later, this retail store makes shopping for custom threads worth every penny.. In Short
One of the few remaining clothiers employs 60 European tailors and battalions of sales associates to make suit-shopping a vogue experience. It boasts marble staircases, mahogany shelves, elegant fitting rooms and fashion coordinators around every corner. The store is known for house-tailored trousers and jackets of imported silks, wools and linens. Sportswear and formal attire for the fellas come from Armani, Missoni, Burberry and more. Women's wear includes Sonia Rykiel, Trombolini, Rena Lange and Zanella.

In our Backyard. One of the country's best men'swear stores right here in Phioladelphia. Yes it might be more expensive than the outlets or discount men's stores; I feel there is terrific value shopping here- especially when you factor in the free alterations and promotions that occur throughout the year. As with most things in life, you get what you pay for! --Quality, service and selection. I also made the mistake of taking my wife and now it's one of her favorites as well.

Overbearing Sales People and Poor Selection. Whenever I am there, I can't wait to run out of Boyd's. The sales people are so desperate for a commission, that they descend upon you in the first 3 seconds and won't leave you alone to just browse. The minute you step into another sales person's territory that person just follows you around telling you how wonderfull you'll look in something you don't want to buy and you can't get a minute's peace to enjoy the very limited selection. You'll pay full price for clothes that were on clearance racks at the mall.

poor tailoring, service. Not good - I bought a sport coat and had it sent onto my home in NY after alterations were made - it arrived with sleeves WAY too short. I got it corrected locally on the promise that Boyds would reimburse me for this work - 2 months later - nothing.

Great Clothes Selection, Poor Tailoring. I have to agree with the other reviews regarding poor tailoring. I have shopped at Boyd's for a long time and will continue to do so, but this is because of the clothes selection and not because of the service or tailoring. I have had to take suits back on at least 3 different occaisions to get re-tailored. On one time, the sleeves were obviously too short and the salesman, in talking to the tailor, said in a demeaning tone like I don't know how to wear clothes, "This guy likes his sleeves long." I had to chastize him and tell him that I like things to fit. On another occaison threads were hanging off the suit. But the clothes selection is great and it still is cheaper than Barney's in NYC.
