The shoe repair shop I usually frequent was closed on Saturday so I decided to try Liberty Shoe Service...BIG MISTAKE. Not only did they want to charge me more for the same shoe type (black pumps) with the same repair job (replace heel tip cover) that my friend brought the prior evening, but also, the owner told me to take my shoes back to my other shop when I simply inquired about the price discrepancy. When I explained that I needed the heels fixed that day (regardless of the price differential), he told me that he was suddenly "too busy" which was interesting since I was the only customer in his store and, for the record, he told me that it would take "5 minutes" to fix the heels upon my arrival...this was before he quoted the price and I commented on the higher price. He refused to give me his name and then yelled that I must leave since he did not have time for my business. I took my shoes to Villa's Shoe Repair on 19th and Spruce instead and they did a wonderful job.

Cons: Hostile Customer Service, Refusal of Service

The soles on my Kenneth Coles were loose, so the man at Liberty said the entire sole needed replacing. Fine. Based on the rating here, I trusted him. Big mistake. For $45 he ripped out all support and structure from the shoe and replaced everything with a flat, thin slab of rubber. The next day, the "repaired" sole was completely falling off. I took them back and he re-glued. Within two days, the re-repaired sole was ALSO completely falling off, so I asked for a refund. He refused. A lifetime of re-gluing was not what I paid $45 for. He honestly believed I owed him for the substandard sole that would not stay attached. Please take your business elsewhere.

Pros: Location

Cons: No refunds for horrible quality. I paid $45 to for condition of shoes to be degraded.
