Avoid Unique Shoe Repair. I have used Unique Shoe Repair in the past however my most recent experience shoe repair lasted all of 2 hours. I went back to explain my situation to the husband & wife team, who informed me that they do not guarantee the work or materials used. And pretty much claimed that I was lying about the number of times I wore the shoes. And that I should have immediately returned to the store. Unfortunately I was wearing the shoes to the airport to catch and flight and was unable to do so. They actually started raising their voices asking me what I wanted them to do about it and that they did not intend to repair the shoes for free. They offered a $3.00 discount, however I choose not to have the shoes repaired. I have not found a new shoe repair company in the area, but I will never use Unique shoe repair again. It was not worth $10.00 to fix a pair of shoe I wore for less than 2 hours.
I took my boots to repair the rubber heel, and they charged me $15. I usually pay $5-8 for this. Interestingly, they kept say how other places "charge $20" for this, and I didn't want to argue with them or waste my time.
The next morning, the left heel fell off right after I stepped on it. I brought it back into this repair place, and the elderly Asian man said that it would cost another $15 to fix it. I told him that I thought that this would be unfair, and then he snapped at me and told me to get out of his shop!
I am usually very easy going, but I had to report this. Don't make my same mistake - do not waste your time going here. There are about 10 other shoe repair places within 3-4 blocks of this place.
