my favorite salon in center city. i can't believe i just saw a negative review about jessica, who has been my stylist for the past two years. i think she is amazing! i hope to be her client for the rest of my life -- she always does a fantastic job and is very sweet and talkative. it's hard for me to imagine anyone having a bad experience with her, so i had to ring in with my props :)

Best cut of my life!. I started going to Devon at House Productions a few years ago after a friend swore up and down she was the best. I had grown my hair out super long and wanted to donate it, but was scared to death to cut it. Devon did an amazing job (best cut of my life!), and I have been going back to her every since. I have really thick hair, and have had many bad experiences with bad haircuts because my hair is such a challenge. I have yet to be disappointed with a cut and get complemented constantly on my hair. Nothing else matters about a salon if your hair makes you feel great, and that is the least I can say about Devon's cuts.

Awesome. But Crowded.. I was here to get the tips of my hair dyed blue. It turned out better than I expected. The blue was a fantastic blue purplish color that changed in the light. But as I found myself walking in the city with my hair, the color in my hair quickly began to fade. Maybe it was because I was so self concience about it, in my mind it started to fade. But what do i know, I'm only in highschool. The woman that did my hair was very nice, but she was also styling/dying another woman's hair, so half way through my hair apointment, she began to run back and forth between us two. It might only be today, because the colorist that was supposed to dye my hair was sick, and they were under in staff. It was a comfortable environment and everyone at the studio was friendly and very productive, i highly reccomend it. I am pretty sure I will go back and get my hair dyed again, but with a lighter color to contrast with my very dark, almost black hair. This place is amazing even with my slight problems. My friend recommended it to me, and now I am recommending it to anyone out there in philly who enjoys an awesome hair dye. :)

Response from House Productions. We at House Productions take great pride in our training, knowledge, professionalism and superior workmanship. That being said, we are very sorry to hear a less than satisfied response from our clients. Saturdays are by far the busiest day of the week at our salon. Many out of town clients, wedding parties, and those looking to relax fill up our day at House Productions. Because of our precision techniques a haircutting appointment takes a full hour to complete. Beginning with our thorough consultation, relaxing shampoo, and custom cut you will leave feeling we have given each and every client our undivided attention in regard to your hair. Unfortunately because of our high standards and situations beyond our control appointments may run behind at times. I would like to take full responsibility as manager of House Productions for not being made available to accommodate you. Again, I apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced. avoid totally. worst experience I ever had at a saloon. jessica was my stylist and was unprofessional and very rude. i will never go back

Terrible Customer Service. I was told when I made my appointment that the salon only made appointments on the hour (I requested a 1:30 but had to make a 1:00 instead). I arrived at 12:55 for my 1:00 appt. and checked in at reception and was told to sit in the waiting area. Then another girl came over and asked my name, what stylist I had, and gave me a robe. It was a hot day late in June, and the salon was uncomfortably warm. I waited. At 1:20, I was still waiting and no one had come over to tell me my stylist was running late or ask if I at least wanted a glass of water while I waited. I went over to ask the receptionist if there was something wrong. I told her that I had been waiting 20 minutes with no word, and she told me no one had told her anything, either. Then she checked and found out the stylist would be another 15 minutes with her client! Meanwhile, the stylist was chatting away doing highlights on her 12:00 client. I asked if I could at least speak with a manager. They told me the manager, Jenn Weberine, was also with a client and would not be available for another 40 minutes.

I don't understand what the point of a manager is if she's not available to help clients, and why they only schedule on the hour when obviously some services take longer than an hour and some services take much less. It was rude that the salon kept me waiting for over 20 minutes and would have kept me longer had I stayed (I left at 1:25 and made an appt at another salon where I was in and out in 25 minutes--wash, cut, blowdry--the amount of time I was WAITING at House Productions). They really seemed to be oblivious to the needs of their clients. There was another woman with a 1:00 appt who was still waiting when I left. Terrible customer service, unprofessional, and disorganized. I will never go back.

Best haircut around, great atmosphere. I have been seeing Jen for years now and she is the best! She always listens to what I want and delivers what I want. Its tough to find someone that knows what your trying to describe as a cut or how to re-create a magazine picture ( not all of us can pull off Katie Holmes new hair style), Jen always seems to be reading my mind and goes above and beyond my expectations. The salon is very nice , fun and always up on the new trends. If anyone is looking for a great cut call and book with Jen you will not be dissappointed!

Fabulous Salon!. I have been going to this salon for about 2 years now and absolutely love it! Devon is my stylist and she does an amazing job - always listens carefully to want I and works with my hair to achieve the desired results. I also periodically get my hair colored and have that done by Rachel. She, too, does a great job! I am constantly getting compliments on my hair.

Everyone else in the salon is very friendly (not like some other salons) and they are more than willing to take good care of you.

Almost every time I've gone, I've been taken back immediately. On one occassion, the wait was going to be 15min - I was apologized to profusely and given a free conditioning treatment.

I highly recommend this salon!

amazzzzingggggggggg.. went and saw megan. she did an amazing job! i've never gotten so many compliments on my cut! same goes with my color, done by kacey. people literally stop me on the street and ask me where i get it done. i highly, highly reccomend this salon. great atmosphere, right off rittenhouse square.

Still cutting the coolest haircuts in town. I went here regularly about ten years ago and it was great. I went again recently and once again, I walked out feeling like I got the best haircut of my life. Jessica was perfect and cool and really listened to what I wanted. She seemed to be able to tell how much of a risk I was willing to take. She also gives good reasons for why you may or may not want to do something. All in all, I love my cool haircut, I will most certainly go back, and I totally trust them.
