They're nice to you if you're nice to them. There is no place else in the city where you can get a Fantastic wax for cheap and in less than 10 minutes. And the women tell you what to do to take care of your 'area' so you can fully enjoy your wax. Get over the fact that not everyone is American in this country (yeah, crazy right?), and respect them for the culture they are; they're truly nice people. Best place for waxing without a doubt. The only place I go, and have been for the last 7 months.

Great wax job horrible customer service. You will get a great wax at International Spa. They are quick and do a great job. I never have problems with ingrown hairs or bumps after my wax.

I agree with some of the other reviewers that the owner is super rude. If you can put up with her horrible attitude (she insults me in one way or another every time I am there) I would recommend this place. Just be prepared for the owner and let it roll off your back.

Best wax ever!. Whoever is writing the bad reviews must be competition! I have been going here for years. When I first came to Philadelphia from the south all the girls I met were getting waxed.! went to many places only to be disappointed and wondering why someone would put their self through this pain. Let me tell you I've been to Brazil lived there 6 months and couldn't wait to get back to Emma if your wondering lol it's not done the same and hurts like crazy1. I always got bumps from shaving which made me self conscious with waxing never a problem.. With Emma or her daughter I never have had pain, it is very clean and they don't give you that pretentious vibe. Any one who goes here will never want any one else promise you1 Also I couldn't log into my account so used my friends facebook. My name is Ebony Kalada on facebook if you have any questions.

Beware, horrible waxing!!. Emma’s waxing license should be revoked and the International Salon should be shut down. Her practice is unsafe and unsterile. She bruised me terribly and yelled that it was my fault. Do not listen to the positive reviews, the owner probably writes them herself. I went to the International Salon because it was cheaper than other places. I regret my decision and realize that saving a few dollars is not worth an unprofessional, unsterile, hostile, and painful experience.

what?!. The first time I got a Brazilian I paid double what I paid here and it was honestly the worst and most painful waxing experience I've ever had. I heard about International Salon through a friend, and I haven't gone anywhere else. Emma and her daughter do an amazing job, not to mention 35$ is a complete steal. Yeah they're a bit stern but who cares? They both do an amazing job. I'd rather that than anything else.

The owner is incredibly rude!. I believe that the owner of this place must be writing her own reviews.

She is very very rude!

Excuse me, this is not an ex-communistic country!

This is the USA, for God's sake!

You cannot treat your customers that way in this country!

There I was getting my first wax after birth with my new bor. For those mother’s of new born babies and those to come, this is the place for you. A month and a half after having given birth it was scary to even think about what was going on down there, especially since it had been a good 3-4 months since my last bikini wax – being a full 9 months preggers, the last think you are thinking about is getting waxed!

So after a month and a half of having given birth I am ready for my first waxing. I packed up my kid in his infant car seat and headed to Salon International. Just as we were getting to my turn, my baby started crying. I figured that was it, I may as well pack up and go cause there is no way I would be able to let him cry while I get waxed and I was not leaving him. Emma stopped me and said, “it’s ok, take the child, leave the car seat out front.” That is exactly what I did. She escorted me to her back room, told me to get in position on the waxing bed and lay my baby on my chest. The minute my baby and I laid down, my baby calmed down and enjoyed the scent of his mother. All the while I was also in a calm, relaxed state as I felt my baby’s breathing on my chest.

If you are a new customer. I have read the other reviews and my take is this -- I would recommend Emma for the bikini wax. if you are new to the International Salon, please tell them so and Emma will walk you through it and will be very helpful. My first time, I let her know I was nervous and she gave me lots of reassurance and advice on how it can be better next time, all without slowing down. Communicate, listen and take her lead and everything will be fabulous.

the Best for eyebrows. Emma is hands down the best in the country for eyebrows and she does not charge ridiculous fees or take a long time. I recently moved out of state and I'm seriously considering flying back to Philly just to get my eyebrows done by Emma before my wedding. She transforms people in minutes! In other cities around the country, people take way too long and they don't make my eyebrows look half as good.
