In Short – Enter through the side door of this wood-paneled haunt for Moore students and museum workers and you're greeted by two huge sides of roast beef. Handwritten signs advertise specials, of both the drink kind and the "take a ski trip with your fellow barflies" kind; they're only outflanked by Eagles and Sixers paraphernalia. As for food, the menu lists standard and inexpensive Philly bar fare: hoagies and nachos, supplemented by pepperoni and cheese with crackers.
Best roast beef sandwich in town!
by Seashell1806
Another one of my favorites and endearing to my heart. At one time lived in the neighborhood and lived at Cherry Street Tavern. Good memories. This "old school" Philadelphia tavern has the best roast beef sandwich, add a bowl of chili for a bonus! The staff friendly and kind, always welcoming. Be back soon!
- Pros: Cozy corner bar with good old fashion bar eats
- Cons: Minimal parking
GREAT PLACE FOR FOOD,SERVICE,AND FRIENDS
by COLLEENMCCANNDOYLE
After the saint patricks day parade a group of about 40 of us all ages included headed to the cherry street tavern, we were greeted with smiles from staff and customers alike.the selection of drinks, food and music were great, this place is like an old neighborhood bar where you feel comfortable, yet hip and fun enough to bring a date.the cherry street is very clean the food is excellent, the drinks are cold and the owners treat you like family, why would you go any place else? We won't . Thank you colleen.
- Pros: the whole package: service, food, drinks, location.
- Cons: none

The only thing I love more then Igor is DogFishHead. This place is da bomb. Igor is so cool even when she fights with the little fat guy. I like chicken and Joe Dirt.
- Pros: Igor
- Cons: None
The Details on Cherry Street Tavern
Know Before You Go:
At the base of the bar is an old trough left over from the days when the front of the bar was for men only, and relief was just a matter of unzipping and aiming for the stream of water that trickled quietly toward the drain.
