In Short – A friendly spot, Mama Palma's keeps a wood-fired brick oven by the door and couples in windows overlooking Spruce Street. Clients include college kids and neighborhood families, who come for casually efficient service and food fit for sharing. Pizzas come topped with roasted eggplant, fresh ricotta, capers, sun-dried tomatoes and clams, along with less traditional toppings like Peking duck, brie and chicken dijon, turning potentially combative combinations into sensible pairings. You can't miss with traditional pies like the roasted sausage or Margherita, and gourmet-style…
Ditto on the Horrible Service

I brought my friends from out-of-town with a new baby to Mama Palma's for lunch on Friday. At first they thought it best to go for take-out for fear that the baby might be too fussy. When the pizza came and the baby was sleeping soundly, we asked if we could eat in instead, to which the response was: "This isn't going to work. We don't like the look of the box on the table. Once it's take-out it's take out." As the waiter was asking us (paying, civil customers) to leave, we could hear the proprietor shouting about us from the back room. Needless to say I was thoroughly upset and embarrassed and won't go back. I didn't notice all the negative reviews before, but I'm here to confirm that they seem to be true.

The Food Is A Must!
by RJunior
My family and I have lived in the Fitler Square neighborhood now for the better part of this decade, so dining in/ taking out from Mama Palma's has turned into a frequent, weekly routine. Oh, and this is not because it is convenient for us. This is because it truly is some of the best pizza we have ever had! The pizzas are all so well-crafted and unique. My daughters LOVE the 'polenta bread plate!' We've never had anything like it. Definitely recommend nibbling on this as you decide on the rest of the meal. Usually one of the kind owners delivers it to our table.
Sometimes it can feel a little rushed inside, but that is only because this place is small and always busy.
- Pros: Great food, Always packed
- Cons: Might have to wait for a table
