What People Are Saying About Little Pete's

In Short – Nostalgic for an old-school diner, complete with the same waitresses who have been waiting on the same customer for 30 years? It's all here, at this family-owned Greek diner that specializes in spinach pie, stuffed chicken breast and homemade soups and puddings. The space has been described as "cozy" for its limited number of tables (seven) and counter where patrons squeeze into close quarters. And as for those waitresses? Tak it from one of the waitstaff: "Some of them are known for their attitude. But people like it."
Editor's Tips
- Know Before You Go:
- Hit up the ATM before you dine; Little Pete's doesn't accept credit cards.
- The Extras:
- Both soup selections change daily.
- Where to Sit:
- Perch at the counter for an earful of Philly stories from the old-timers.

Moldy food and no apology!!!

I had high hopes for Little Pete's. I love diners. I don't expect fine-dining, just a nice big, greasy burger or pile of scrambled eggs. The reviews were favorable, so my boyfriend and I went in for a late-night meal. What can I say...it was probably my WORST restaurant experience ever. I ordered strawberry shortcake, and I noticed within a few bites that all of the strawberries were covered in white MOLD. I informed the waitress, she whisked away the plate and handed us the check. No apology from her or the owner. They still charged my boyfriend for his meal, which, while not violating health codes, was pretty gross (hashbrowns = soggy potato mush). In addition to the moldy food that made me sick, the service was extremely slow, and the food was not cheap (midtown is about $2 cheaper for every meal). Little Pete's = don't go!
- Pros: Ummm...
- Cons: MOLD

My mom and I went to Little Pete's for a weekend breakfast recently - It was awesome. I'm from a small southern Indiana town, and the overweight bleach blonde waitress who referred to her customers as "hun" was a little bit of home for me! :) What people out here call "comfort food" is normal food to me and that's Little Pete's. You won't find healthy exciting or inventive dishes on the menu, but you'll find plently of GOOD eats and isn't that what it's all about after all??
- Pros: grease = delicious food
- Cons: grease = fatty food
