While Pete's is a great late night spot, it really has some tasty eats. My go to spot when I have a super early gig & need to fill up.

This is well-known as an after-last-call grub stop, but not a ton of people know that they also deliver! We love you, Little Pete.
lil petes. OMG manager yu guys need to wash yur hands and check the food befoe yu eat it ive had better foodss on a subway station then this come on
Moldy food and no apology!!!. I had high hopes for Little Pete's. I love diners. I don't expect fine-dining, just a nice big, greasy burger or pile of scrambled eggs. The reviews were favorable, so my boyfriend and I went in for a late-night meal. What can I say...it was probably my WORST restaurant experience ever. I ordered strawberry shortcake, and I noticed within a few bites that all of the strawberries were covered in white MOLD. I informed the waitress, she whisked away the plate and handed us the check. No apology from her or the owner. They still charged my boyfriend for his meal, which, while not violating health codes, was pretty gross (hashbrowns = soggy potato mush). In addition to the moldy food that made me sick, the service was extremely slow, and the food was not cheap (midtown is about $2 cheaper for every meal). Little Pete's = don't go!
awesome food.
Great food, at a resonable price best food in the area. i met pat burrell there!!!!!! we both got reubens!!!!
Pros: great food
Cons: What happened to the hot black counter girl??????
the true city experience. been eating here since I first move to the city; some 15 years ago. it's the only restaurant that has staid constant. the food is great dinner food & the prices remain good. it's phila's cheers; everyone always knows your name. I love the burgers, chef salad & any of the eggs dishes plus the scrapple. most of all I love the late night severs love Helen!
Little Pete's Rocks. My mom and I went to Little Pete's for a weekend breakfast recently - It was awesome. I'm from a small southern Indiana town, and the overweight bleach blonde waitress who referred to her customers as "hun" was a little bit of home for me! :) What people out here call "comfort food" is normal food to me and that's Little Pete's. You won't find healthy exciting or inventive dishes on the menu, but you'll find plently of GOOD eats and isn't that what it's all about after all??
the staff and the food are "comfort food". I always feel better after eating at little petes. the burgers are the best. ask for helen she treats you with respect even if your a drunk.
Health code doesn't exist here!. Dirty, gross, disgusting. Though, I guess it would be great if I were wasted. The food is sub-par, but not unlike most other 24 hour establishments. It also strikes me as really, really dirty. Vagrants wander in and out, the floor has a perpetual layer of grime & dirt, thank god you can't see the kitchen.
excuse me, i believe that's my toast!. i've had so-so experiences eating at this establishment several times in the past, however the last time i ate there, i vowed never to return. me and my boyfriend sat down at the counter to order some food; it was late friday night, so it was pretty crowded. i sat next to a man who was just finishing up his food, as ours arrived. as i began to eat, the man next to me decided that he needed to nap after his meal and was slowing falling asleep. the manager/owner, i'm not sure which, came over several times to tell the guy to go home and sleep it off (the drunken stupor i imagine). just as we were finishing our late night breakfast, the drowsy man next to me woke up, reached across MY plate, took MY toast, and started munching on it! WOAH, i'm all for sharing, but this is just too much. we immediately get the check from the waitress, at that point i was FINISHED! the owner/manager who had told him several times to pack it up and go on home informed us that he was a regular and that he was sorry. i guess this establishment values it's regulars more than it's casual late night diners.
Wonder how smoking ban affects the "ambience".
I have not been in here since, but I wonder how smoking ban affects the "ambience".
The food is good, and they definitely cater to regulars better than the casual customer.
My suggestion though, if possible is to go to the other Little Petes in the Philadelphian at 24th and Fairmount.
It is bigger, and the overall service is much better - but the Food quality remains the same.
not good. I ordered a simple grilled swiss on rye. The waitress was surly - as she walked past us, she said "hi." My husband replied, "hello." The waitress snarled, "I wasn't talking to you." The grilled cheese arrived - cold, greasy, and the swiss cheese was like a giant brick of rubber. There are a lot of other diners in Philly where the food is much better and cheaper. Don't recommend at all.
