Bard's is a MUST try!.
My husband & I ate dinner their 12/28/10 and had a wonderful evening. Our waitress service was not that nice, but the owner's wife was just lovely and very accomodating. The food was great right from the appetizer to the dessert! The bailey's irish creme brulee is a must try--best dessert I ever tasted! Great atmosphere too:)

Awesome Spot.
You want a great, low key, genuine pub? The Bards is it. The place is cozy (working fireplace in the winter), friendly staff who may play video games with you or just hang out and enjoy the bangers and mash. The Bards is a 180 from the Irish pub two doors down. The Bards offers a more genuine group of people who would would rather try to beat you at darts than hook up for the night (though not unheard of). Great beer selection and good pub/Irish food, this is a pub to no be missed.

Great Breakfast spot!.
Came here and ordered the Irish Breakfast, it was PERFECT! I had missed having some good black/white pudding! This is a GREAT dark pub! Perfect makeout table around the corner from the bar! Music.... not the best, but I'll forgive them. Great spot!

More than just Irish eyes are smiling after a visit to this popular meeting place..
In Short
Professionals, university students, young and old--a mix of people that marks a good pub--are often seen grabbing a Guinness at the bar. A warm goat cheese salad with roasted walnuts and raspberry vinaigrette mixes well with fish-and-chips for lunch. Dinner offerings like Limerick ham or Bushmills barbecued salmon are filling choices. For a real belly buster, order the traditional Irish breakfat for brunch, complete with eggs, sausage, black-and-white pudding and baked beans.

Great Time at the Bards.
My family and I were visitying Philly, and we read a good review of the Bards so we thought we would check it out. It was great! We had a table in the front all by ourselves. It sat outside of the "Irish cottage". The ambience was really nice. I have been to Ireland, and the hospitality at the Bards was equal to that of the country. The food was really goo. The Guinness stew was fantastic. The boxty were great( we had the sheperd's pie filling.) I had the best pint of Guinness ever, and the Atlantic chowder was bursting with fish. Even my 11 year old loved the place. I highly recommend The Bards if you are in Philly.

Good food.
The bar menu is pretty good and the regular entrees are decent. I think they have the best wings.
The dinner menu is a bit pricey though
