Great place to hang out with friends.
I'm a big fan of Irish Pub on Thurs, Fri, or Sat nights. The fact my friends live only a few blocks away doesn't hurt, but there are plenty of other bars in the area and we often choose to go to Irish. It's what you'd expect from an Irish pub - plenty of beer, Irish-looking decor, bar food, and young professionals. But Irish seems friendlier than most somehow. They often have good specials ($2 drafts), and the "chicken thumbs" are in fact more meaty than their finger-shaped compatriots. There are multiple areas for whether you want to dine, chat with a few friends, or hang out at the bar. While they sometimes charge a $2 cover, you really can't complain about such a measley fee for entrance to such a fun place.
Maybe it's not the most authentic Irish bar in town, but don't tell that to the crowds of students who flock here.. In Short Beautiful hardwood floors, an immaculate first-floor bar, booths perfect for conspirators and a regular crowd of young student types. The Irish Pub's rowdy crowd is a smattering of Penn and Drexel students and young professionals who work in Center City. Televisions upstairs and down broadcast the day's games while the two bars keep the crowd lubed.
Happy Hour Haven.
You can't lose with a happy hour here..I've gone in groups as large as 20 and small as 2...and it'a never fail good time....very condusive to meeting new people..and always great beer specials
Laid Back Fun.
The Irish Pub is a great night out. The staff is great, food is reasonably priced and good, and drink specials run constantly. You can go for happy hour, stay till Midnight, and still have plenty of money left in your pocket to make a Wawa trip. Great place to watch sporting events. A nice crowd - good-looking girls on the weekends.
