In Short – Mace's Crossing is a place for preppies to imbibe after cheering on their alma mater rowing team. Alternatively, it is a place for older, established male alums of such schools to woo and be wooed under the glow of sports television. The tavern's owners legendarily refused to move when the apartment building behind it was built. The story, in addition to an unreasonably packed patio during summer happy hours gives the 20-year-old establishment an aura of quirky charm.

Editor's Tips

What to Drink:
There are several beers--the usual suspects--on draft, plus a number of bottled microbrews and imports. Wines of both the house and slightly classier varieties are also available. Look for the extensive menu of vodka as well.
