The "golden bags" appetizer are little fried dough sacks stuffed not with pirate doubloons but with flavorful ground chicken and shrimp.

One of my favorite spots for a long lunch. Their lunch special includes an appetizer, salad or soup, and one of their entrees. A good deal for a great meal.
The Tom Yum lived up to its name. I recommend starting with the Tom Yum soup, a lemon grass soup with just the right amount of spice to clense your palate before an entre. Then don't forget to order the Pad See Yew. Bringing wine or beer also helps because this place is BYOB.
Overpriced food.. There must be better thai restaurants than this. For 15-18 dollars an entree, I was expecting more than this. Yes, the curry chicken was good, but the bowl was quite small (and I'm not a very big eater in the first place). The pad thai is very good, but I do not feel right paying more the $10 for pad thai in an average/neighborhood setting like this. I don't see the reason for the raves. Also, watch your check; at the end of the meal, the waitress was off by $6 (in their favor), and she did not apologize when I corrected her.
Wonderful Thai food!. A friend and I had lunch there yesterday. The food was delicious -- we tried the chicken curry dumplings, Erawan noodles and of course the Pad Thai. The dumplings in particular were exceptionally good! Service was fast. The restaurant is off the beaten path but well worth finding -- and it looks like they deliver too!
pad thai. This place has the best pad thai in the city -- I say that with no hesitation. It's become a regular monthly treat for me. Unfortunately, I've seen that this restaurant is highly underappreciated (perhaps due to it's hidden location). Don't miss this chance to delight in some of the most delicious noodle dishes in town. My husband loves their fish dishes as well. We'd also recommend the chicken curry dumplings -- unique and highly addictive. Don't forget the Thai Iced Tea. This is up there with Lemongrass!
i'll never return to Amara. I got bored of Amara.. My girlfriend finally decided to try this place.. This is the new place.. Erawan noodles are good.. The glass noodle salad - good.. Amara is good, but I'll never crave any of their dishes.. But I'm craving some Erawan noodles AS I TYPE THIS!!
