Very friendly and helpful hardware store.
I really like this hardware store. A lot of the time, when a girl walks into a hardware store alone she's either ignored or stared at like an intruding alien. At least that's been my experience. But here, the staff treats you like a customer!
They're super friendly, very helpful, always know exactly where their surprisingly extensive stock is tucked away, and have never laughed at my most inane and foolish questions.
Yes, they have a smaller selection than a big box store like Home Depot, but who walks into a 20 ft by 20 ft store and expects o find 87 kinds of faucets? If you need a gadget or gizmo they probably have it. If you need the exact cabinet handle shown in Martha Stewart, probably not. But always ask - they just might surprise you! For such a small store they have a wide range of products - electric drills, paint brushes, mops and clothesline, canning jars, potting soil and pots, pest control, and lots of serious hardware stuff like pipe fittings and heavy duty hinges.
Go, even if only to say hi to their mascot dog. He's adorable.
Great neighborhood harware store. I had a broken lamp, didn't really know what the cause of the problem was.. they fixed it and charged me a little over ten bucks for parts and labor and had it ready in under thirty minutes. Just a great neighborhood hardware store with excellent customer service. Tell them what you need and they're on it, asap!
Other local stores don't come close. This is by far the best hardware store in the city. The store is well organized, the staff is super helpful, and the prices are reasonable. The guys who work also know what they're talking about.
Local gem!!!. i love this place!! a great, old school hardware store with friendly service and just about anything you could possibly want. of course this isn't a big box store, so some items are a bit more expensive, but you get what you pay for. the guys that work there are honest and helpful. whatever you need they won't steer you wrong and if they don't have it, they will tell you where to go to find it! as an added bonus the coolest dog in the city hangs out there! a mastiff i believe, but he is very gentle and friendly towards all that shop there.
Odds & Ends. I try to stop in frequently to adorn my buddy Brody and pick up a few odds & ends. The service is always friendly and available for questioning. I'm happy to support a family business as well. All the best!
Poor Service. I disagree with positive comments on service. Been there many times and the one specific worker continues to be condescending and arrogant. It is a shame because others are very kind and helpful and is a very well organized store.
Great service. These guys will answer any questions you have & give you honest answers. If they think you're buying an unnecessary item, they'll tell you so - they'll even point you to something cheaper if they think it fits your needs better. Great hardware store overall with a decent selection for its size. Don't waste your time wandering the aisles of the huge hardware stores, looking for someone to help you. This is the place to go for your standard hardware needs.
best hardware store. do NOT get in your car to go to the big orange hardware store. These guys are great! Helpful and their dog rocks!!!
Good neighborhood hardware store.. The workers are very helpful, unlike some of the nearby hardware stores. They have a little of everything. They're also helpful on the phone, so if you don't want to walk there and find out they don't have something - call ahead! Very friendly!
Editorial Review. Don't let the massive mastiff deter you--this welcoming Rittenhouse Square-area hardware store is chock full of friendly advice.
