Career clothing with a casual, conservative flair..
In Short
Tailored but never trendy, this affordable chain has been keeping the closets of career gals and housewives stocked with good-quality, basic wardrobe-builders, shoes and accessories since 1954. Diligent shoppers can unearth some seasonal options with more of an edge too: suede wrap skirts, retro-print separates or clingy little black dresses. Frequent sales make these stores prime ops for college grads on the prowl for interview suits, weddings and first-job career-wear.

Ann Taylor.
Definitely a place to get career basics. I have also occassionally found a shirt for a night out as well. I don't feel the suit jackets ever work for me, but I love their sweaters and found an amazing skirt there recently as well. Some of the styles can be older (and even for wearing them at the office), so it just depends on what you are pariing it up with. I recommed signing up for the e-mails. They will send 15-25% off coupons for a purchase over $'100 (not hard to do). Sales staff is curteous (as they are at Ann TAylor Loft as well).

On My List..
Always on my list as a place to stop and shop, especially at sale time. Mostly for the young at heart and thin in body, sizes from 0-16 but not much on the higher end. If you are looking for longer tops you may be able to pick one up here. Nice atmosphere, good service. Could be better in the overall pricing, but hey, sometimes you have to live with it and there are always those sales.
