Author Events are Downplayed. They pay little attention to author events. There is little to no PR for "visiting" authors. They promise to put up signs in the store for authors who come and read but then they get really sloppy OR the PR books events manager quits or gets FIRED and they forget to do it. Disaster! Disorganized! Then they apologize, of course, AFTER the damage has been done! They are disorganized to the MAX. This store is a very bad reading venue for authors on reading tours. Borders is SO much better. Barnes and Noble Philadelphia also hires yahoo/puritanical book events managers who quibble with authors about book content. This store is a disaster! I can't say this enough. I used to love Barnes and Noble, so I find writing this a bit painful. They may have good coffee and cheesecake and kiddie books but if you are a author on tour, give this LAME store a PASS!

An easy-access resource for books of any stripe, with impressive children's, business and bestseller sections.. In Short
Established in 1873 and still thriving, this mainstream bookseller boasts almost 600 locations and does brisk online business as well. Ubiquitous and well organized, Barnes & Noble arranges its huge book selection in 22 user-friendly categories, from Art and Architecture to Romance and Travel. Stores host seasonal book signings and family-friendly "Storytimes." Many locations also offer music, movies and cafes that serve Starbucks coffee.

I JUST LOVE THIS PLACE. THEY HAVE EVERYTHING HERE AND IF THEY DON'T THEY WILL DO WHATEVER THEY CAN TO FIND IT FOR YOU. PLUS THERE IS A STARBUCKS SERVING CHEESECAKE FACTORY! WHAT COULD BE BETTER!
