Tips for Young's Nail Salon

Very relaxing, clean and pleasant experience.

Great service, location, and staff. I have been going to this nail salon for almost two years now. Young's nail salon is a great place to relax and enjoy the services. The gel nails that I get are flawless, the ladies are nice, and even the music's great! However, it's possible that you will get a poor job because there are some new (by new i mean unexperienced, slow, clumsy) technicians in the summer because they need more staff. But other than that, they have professional and quick service. In addition, when the ladies have free time, they even give you a nice little back massage! The staff members are really sweet and friendly. I would strongly recommend this nail salon for all you ladies (and gentlemen!) who simply want to relax and enjoy your services while you're there!

Oh and I just read the ratings below me. I just want to tell you for your information that they do not use razers anymore because of those kinds of problems. None of the nail salons are allowed to use them anymore. So no worries!

Terrible Service. I was extremely disappointed with the mani/pedi I got here. The girl who did my pedi didn't even try to use the pumice stone (3 swipes, that was it) and then the mani girl was in such a hurry to leave she practically ripped my cuticles off. For the price they charged I expected to leave there with my feet and hands looking great. As it is I'm going to have to go somewhere else to have my pedicure redone. I could have done a better job at home!

Foot fungus from pedicure. I used to go to this nail salon all the time. It changed hands in around 2004 and the new owner was warm and welcoming. Following a few days after a pedicure I had there, I started noticing a whitish build up on both of my big toes. It was in the exact place where they had scraped with the razor. I had to go to a podiatrist to be diagnosed has having a foot fungus. I went to the pharmacy to get a specially prescribed foot cream ($46) to take care of this. And let me tell you, it took months for the fungus to go away-close to a year! I religiously put the cream on my feet. Then I got up the courage to try another nail salon where I have since had no reaction to the pedicures. I've also spoken to a woman who confirmed my own thoughts about Young's Nails. This woman told me she would not go back either because she had gotten a toe nail fungus from them. I probably should have called Young's and told them. But looking back, I remember the new owner pouring some serious blue sanitizing solution into the pedicure tubs. This stuff seemed heavy duty and I imagine they were already getting calls from other unhappy customers.

Great for Women AND Men. The service was awesome and the staff was friendly and accommodating. They did not make me feel uncomfortable at all and were very inviting. I got a manicure one week and then a pedicure the next; both were great. I give them the highest recommendation!

Awesome overall experience!. This was my first time going to Young's and I absolutely loved it! I have gone to Pierre & Carlo (super nice but a little expensive) and Central Nails (cheap, you get what you pay for) and this is a great compromise! A french manicure was $17, which is much cheaper than the $25 I paid at P&C. The technician was great, she used a high quality nail polish (O.P.I.) and she even gave you a quick massage at the end while your nails were drying!! I loved this place and can't wait to go back!

friendly experts right in center city!. I'm not sure what happened during the previous reviewer's appointment, but I have nothing but praise for the wonderfully friendly and skilled ladies at Young's Nail Salon. The salon and all instruments used are very clean, and there is a warm, relaxing atmosphere. I can truly say that this was the most precise nail job I have ever had - the tips look undoubtably like my own nails! Yes, they are a bit pricey, but nothing unusual compared to similar establishments. Plus, the price is well worth the quality job.

Overpriced, careless, unskilled. This place charges 50% more than most. The staff has little skill (I have never seen a "professional" apply nailpolish so clumsily. They take forever and the results look bad.
