Looking like the library of an English aristocrat, this joint is a haven for cigar aficionados.

Manager's Attitude Terrible!. If you must be at a Cigar bar in Philly, you may choose to go here. But there are better smoking joints in Philly far more welcoming than Mahogany. I thought the exhaust system was not well designed and the upholstery a little too jaded. The scotch selection and the beers are good - the food is a few notches above bar-food-grade, but what ruined it all was the manager's attitude! He was completely inconsiderate and based on his attitude towards non-whites he is clearly prejudiced. He was absolutely not cool with the bartenders. Not a cool place for me at all..

It's Alright.. Wow, sure sounds to me that Management is trying to hide something. City Search is a place where people can share opinions good OR bad. I heard my buddy tell me he saw a cocktail waitress cry there once because her boss chewed her up in front of everyone. But I'll go back because it's the only place in Phily you can still smoke!

My Happy Place. Mahogany is one of my favorite places to go to after a long day in the office or for a quick afternoon drink on Saturday. I have to say that I am extremely disappointed that citysearch would allow a bitter vengeful employee such as fillygrl to post such an outrageous review.

Please explain to me how management could always be stepping on the customer's toes and making the customers' feel about an inch tall? If the management at Mahogany made the customers feel about an inch tall they would be out of business! Mahogany is, and will remain one of my favorite places. I recommend this place to anyone!

Citysearch,

I am disappointed in your lack of filtering.

like a second home. I don't know what my agony is talking about, other than that it looks like a former employee, not a customer wrote it. I have been a 3-5 night a week regular for about 3 years, and have never seen the management less than gracious with customers. The staff is always great, genuinely cares, and is extremely knowledgeable. The food is excellent, you can?t go wrong with anything on the menu, and the drink selection is fantastic. When in doubt order a dirty daddy and hope you have a ride home!

More like.... "My Agony"!!!!. Sure the idea is great, the setting is nice, and the staff (by staff I mean waitresses) are great.... but you can feel really uncomfortable by the management/ownership there. Not only did I overhear the owner yell at his staff in a very inappropriate way in front of customers- but later on over heard him talking trash about a customer he was just pretending to be nice to. It was a busy night and the staff were really trying hard to take care of everyone... but with someone always stepping on your toes and making you feel about an inch tall... no wonder things were all out of sort! Personally, I would never go back to a place where they treat staff and customers in such a manner!!!
