The burger is the most famous dish at Rittenhouse's long-running hang, but also be cognizant of everything else the kitchen's capable of cranking out, especially when it comes to seafood.

Year after year, Rouge justifies the crowds that keep on coming back. It's a true Philly classic, a convivial spot perfect for cocktails or a full meal.
Always wonderful. Just the perfect ending to a great day before my wedding. I had always enjoyed this restaurant and this time they made my party something quite special.
This place lies!. I called to make a reservation for mother's day and was told "we do not take reservations for mother's day but would take all on a first come first served basis. I arrived at 9:45 and got on line only to be told after several parties were admitted that the rest of the tables were "reserved" or we could sit outside. If you recall it was a raw day.
Compliments to the chef!.
I look at these other reviews and cannot believe they went to the Rouge I have come to love over the years. The food is exceptionallly balanced with layered flavors and fresh ingredients. Creative but not ridiculous. Its comfortable, fabulous, real food done right.
The most recent visit we enjoyed a sampling of items. The burger- it is huge, and if I am not mistaken, it must be ground tenderloin, and the "fixins" are the perfect complement down to the "a la minute" frites. The tuna tartar is exceptional in traditional flavors, the portion enough for a dinner. We couldn't refuse the sound of filet special and we were not disappointed. Wrapped in bacon with Morel mushrooms, demi glace, onions rings and a chunk of blue cheese. As a matter of fact, we have never been disappointed and I don't think you will be either. Compliments to the chef!!!!!
Love the atmosphere. I love the way this place smells when I walk by... is that weird? It's intimate and comfortable. A great place to sit after work or in the afternoon for a glass of wine. Small wine list-- but lovely choices. Clams were delicious. Burger, however came out raw...not rare, but raw when ordered medium... Which was dissapointing b/c I had such high expectations. Overall, I really enjoy this restaurant for a small bite and drink.
Yucky Duck. First time diner fifth time patron! The duck is not good I wouldnt recommend anyone try it unless you have a stomach for greasy food. The fois gras was terrible and the entire entree was oily and too expensive.
the bartender is the best!!!!!!!.
Ok. I just have to say that Tommy the bartender is worth the trip to Rouge alone!
His personality and drink making style is just stunning. He is full of life and can make anyone smile. What a super duper person! He loves buffets of cheeses too!!!
Go there and have him make you a drink, you wont be dissapointed!
Rittenhouse's Best. Rouge is my favorite spot to brunch with friends from out of town. Sitting at the outdoor tables right on the square makes me feel like i've recaptured a small piece of Paris or Brussels. Not bad for an afterdinner coffee/dessert or cocktail etiher.
Stay Away!. Awful service. Terrible! Overpriced, mediocre food is so not worth it!!
Phony, stale, not worth the $$$. If you want to see and be seen, then sit right in the front window wearing your best outfit. Unfortunately, in Philly no one pays attention to fashion or physical fitness so there's not much too look at and not many people to impress. Sorry I'm so negative, but if you want good food, and a well prepared drink stay away from Rittenhouse square. The surrounding city blocks have much more to offer without the attitude.
Great view, overpriced food. Two friends and I met last night for an early dinner. We sat at the table right on the edge of the interior and while it was the perfect spot to people watch and feel outdoors, it had just rained and our table was constanly getting dropped on from above. We used our napkins to wipe up the water and they were drenched when we left. Also the speaker was directly above our table and when we asked a waitress to please turn the music down, she acted as if we had asked her to give us a free meal. In any case, she obliged. Food was quite good but really too overpriced for the amount.
