In Short – Oddly enough, this spot is mostly beige. The bistro's wide and shallow interior surrounds a low marble bar that divides small, round tables. Apropos of the layout, the French-Asian menu is equal parts drink and food. The popular entrees are the daily specials such as the generous omelets, garlicky mussels and soft-shell crab sandwiches with a side of watercress. The signature burger topped with Gruyere and caramelized onions comes with an indulgent side of frites.

Editor's Tips

The Extras:
Dinner is served until 1am Tuesday through Saturday and till midnight Sunday and Monday.
Where to Sit:
The best sidewalk seats for a hot day are those shaded by the black-and-white awning. During brisk weather, outdoor heaters warm sidewalk diners.

WORST STAFF EVER!

by xchristinaox at Citysearch

I have NEVER experienced such discourtesy from a restaurant in my life..the whole entire staff is RUDE and unintelligent..the bar tender Tommy was extremely sexist and basically told me and my 2 women friends that we needed to leave. The original waiter when I asked where the drink menu was said to me "right there..in front of your face". The manager Michelle looked like she was high on some type of drug and couldn't stop swaying from side to side during our conversation about how horrible our experience was. DON'T GO HERE it is a waste of time and $$!!! I am still so upset!

Good Meal

by funfoods at Citysearch

I have been really wanting to try this place for some time. I was somewhat skeptical of going after reading some of the reviews. But I had a great burger...we are talking top five in my time. The frites were awesome (though Monk's are slightly better). The lobster spring rolls for the app was phenomenal. The service was alittle slow, the place was very loud and I don't know if the air conditioner is broke but inside it was very chaud. But this place is going for the food.

  • Pros: Fries Burger Location
  • Cons: Loud, small, hot (temperature speaking)

Romantic dinner

by TiffanyLynnY at Citysearch

I love Rouge. Of course, my opinion could be biased because this was my first date with my boyfriend (one which he recreated for Valentine's Day). I have had exceptional food and wonderful service here. Yes it's loud (but really it makes it more intimate to get closer to your date or friends) but I think they have improved that over time. The food has always been good (ok the creme brulee was a little watery but the top was perfection and it was a busy Valentine's day weekend. Rouge always evokes this old Hollywood glamor type feel for me. I expect Humphrey Boghart to sit down next to me. Always a great time! This places will always hold some of my favorite memories.

  • Pros: our food has always been wonderful, romantic ambience
  • Cons: can be loud but has improved since my first visit there

TOP NOTCH FRENCH FRIES

by j33 at Citysearch

ORDERED THE CHEESEBURGER BECAUSE OF ALL THE REVIEWS. DECENT BUT DID NOT KNOCK ME OUT. THE FRIES ON THE OTHER HAND WERE FANTASTIC. TOP 3 I HAVE EVER HAD. ALSO THE LOCATION IS PERFECT. LOCATED ACROSS FROM RITTENHOUSE SQUARE. SERVICE EXCELLENT. WELL WORTH YOUR TIME.

  • Pros: OUTDOOR SEATING, EXCELLENT AREA
  • Cons: COULD NOT FIND ONE EXCEPT CHEESEBURGER TOO THICK.
