I highly recommend Holly for cuts and Janice for color. I followed this awesome team from their previous salon (salon 191). Holly always gives a perfect cut. She listens attentively and gives you what you want. She knows what cut will suit you, and can help make suggestions. You know that horrible cut you once had where you cried for days? Ain't gonna happen with Holly! She also does fabulous corrective cutting-- when I first went to her she fixed an uneven hack job from a previous stylist She's also skilled at giving the perfect smooth blow out. Janice is a highly skilled colorist. She also does corrective color. She can help you find the perfect shade for you. You'll definitely leave the salon happy!
I have been going to this salon for over 10 years and specifically Roberta for longer than that. She has always been professional and given me nothing but the most stylish haircut, color and blow out EVER! She has done my hair for every major event in my life including my wedding and my wedding party - without flaw. I wouldn't trust my hair to any other stylist! I have visited Roberta's chair a lot over these 10 years and I have seen local TV professionals as well as longtime clients leaving with BIG smiles on their faces! Roberta has a way of making every client become part of her family, she cares more than just about your hair - visit Roberta at Millennium, you'll be glad you did!
I can't rate this salon, but I can rate
the "stylist" ROBERTA. She hacked the right side of my hair off and only left a small area of length. I specifically told her how I wanted it cut . I explained in depth that my hair has been growing out for 1+ years and finally fell into place from a previous bad haircut. I just needed it shaped. My hair now separates, making my hair look below shoulder length on one side and the other side, CHIN LENGTH!!!! I had the owner look at it, and there was nothing he could do, let alone he was speechless. It is not logical that a person with 13 years experience would do this to someone. I find it very serendipity that she ruined the side that I was so concerned about and told her about, that ROBERTA proceeded to hack off layers, to make it worse then it was over a year ago. It went back for my money and my tip. Again, who butchered my hair?....ROBERTA !!!!!!!!! I am sooo angry that I have to start the process over again, let alone, this time it was butchered vs layers growing out.
The staff was very nice
AWESOME!!. I love coming to Millennium. I'm always greeted with a smile and a warm welcome by the girls at the front desk:) I've had my hair cut here for years and I'm a total commitment phobe so I've gone to so many different stylists and I'm always impressed at how good it comes out. And when I can I'll treat myself to a massage and I always leave so relaxed. So treat yourself ladies to a great cut and an awesome massage at Millennium!!!!
I LOVE THIS SALON!!. I love this salon! My friends gave me a gift certificate for my birthday and I immediately set up my appointment for a full day of spa and hair treatments. BEST DAY EVER! The receptionists made me feel comfortable and helped me throughout the day. My experience was wonderful and relaxing in the spa. My color by Mimi looks so good, I have a new colorist. Max the owner styled my hair, he is so nice and made me look awesome. My husband says I can go back to Millennium any time. Great place to send your friends for a special gift!
Great in this Millennium....as they were in the last!. I have been a patron of Max and Vince since they opened Millennium almost two decades ago. I have always enjoyed my time there, whether it's been a massage, hair/color or a mani/pedi. I was told by a friend they have a website and thought I'd do a review on a fabulous trim I just received from Hector (he's absolutely adorable).and saw all the great reviews. I saw a few unflattering ones also. I must say that MY experiences have always been positve and satisfying (and I've been to them all). I am assuming that since there are several other Millennium Salons throughout the region and country that the unhappy client must have left their review on the Wynnewood site by accident.
THE MOST RELAXING DAY EVER!. I had the privilege of receiving a gift certificate for the Millennium Day. I couldn't have asked for a more peaceful and relaxing day, from the moment I got there everybody was just great. I had a wonderful massage from Kelly followed by a heavenly facial from Alison. I didn't have time to have my manicure and pedicure, but u can be sure that I will schedule that as soon as I can.
Worst Experience EVER.
Do not go to Millennium if you like your hair, expect good service and quality colorists. I ventured to try a new spot and a new colorist - TINA after moving to the PHL suburbs. When I arrived at the salon I waited an ungodly amount of time to be taken back. When I was seated, the colorist, Tina was both unpleasant and unprofessional. You expect, at a quality salon that as a new client the technician would start off by greeting you, asking you questions about your hair, your previous coloring, what you want to achieve this visit. She did none of that. She simply asked, "Half or whole?" (my head is not a sandwich) And that was it for small talk or any talk at all. All I wanted her to do was match my golden colored hair and fix the roots. She slopped on some color and put me under a dryer - which she left on way too long. When I was washed out and brushed, my hair fell in WHITE clumps to the ground. Literally, my hair was rolling away in tumbleweed balls thru the salon. In tears I asked for a paddle brush to comb my own hair. She claimed to not have a paddlebrush. Are you kidding me? This is a hair salon....a paddle brush is a staple. I didn't ask for the Hope diamond, I asked for a F'ing brush. After she made no effort to get her lazy ass up and get me a brush, I asked for a manager while my fried, frizzed hair continued to fall to the floor and I continued to cry hysterically. The owner, Max, went on the defense. "Are you on some sort of medication that makes your hair fall out?" he offered. "This has never happened before, I don't know what to tell you." He was as useful as boobs on a bull! They asked how often I colored my hair and I told them I highlight every 8 weeks and her answer to me: "Well that is way too often. You have ruined your own hair." Really? Really? That inane reply only affirmed my belief that she knew absolutely nothing about coloring. Ask any blonde how often they get their hair touched up....I would defy you to find someone who goes less frequently.
My hair was completely bleached out...white, platinum, stripper colored hair. I am a mom, not a stripper. There were chunks of dark roots underneath that didn't blend, but rather burst to the surface of my thinned out locks and looked horrible. There was no tone, no texture, no low lights - just burned, falling out crispy white blonde hair. I moved from New York City where I had my hair done at the world's finest salons - Rita Hazan, Fekkai and while I have come to expect less outside Manhattan, but this chop shop was akin to a dog groomers. Tina has no clue what she is doing. She was unapologetic, rude and even confrontational. She didn't seek to fix the situation, denied any and all culpability and just rolled her eyes as I was in an obvious panic. The salon refused to accept responsibility for ruining my hair. They continued to argue that this somehow was a problem I arrived with. I arrived with light brown roots....I left with destroyed locks (half of which were swept up off their floor).
Very Bad Experience.
I realize there are many excellent reviews for this place, and maybe that's because most of them are reviewing the salon area. My experience was in the spa and my experience was horrendous. First off my massage therapist was at least 20 minutes late taking me back, not once apologizing for running behind. Secondly, by the time she got started with my 90 minute swedish massage it was at least 25-30 minutes past the start time alloted for my appointment. I specifically told her that i didn't want a lot of pressure because my muscles are sensitive and it was painful, and she proceeded to give me pressure like a deep tissue massage. When i complained that it was painful, she apologized and said my muscles were tight, and continued the deep pressure. I complained a number of times and the same thing happened. I was under an enormous amount of stress including dealing with the death of a friend, and instead of just staying quiet and doing my massage considering i told her i needed to just calm down and relax, she asked me about my stressed and made me talk throughout the entire time. When she finally finished, i looked at the clock and since she had run so late to start she had cut my massage short by at least 15-20 minutes. When i complained at the front desk that i wasn't going to pay for a massage time that i didn't get they argued with me, and insisted that the massage therapist said she only cut it short by 5 minutes or less. When i told them that was not the truth, it took a lot of aggravation on my part of getting the manager to finally take $15 off. I walked out of there much more stressed and not at all relaxed, when i was experiencing some of the worst stress of my life.
I myself am a licensed massage therapist and have been in the business 8 years. I have worked at many places and I have had many massages at many places, some good, some bad, but this was by far the worst experience I've had. I would not recommend wasting your time or money on a massage at this place. They are much better as a salon, but as a spa, they have no idea what they are doing, or how to keep their clients relaxed. I will never give them my patronage again.
