Very Bad Experience
by Curly Girl at Citysearch
I realize there are many excellent reviews for this place, and maybe that's because most of them are reviewing the salon area. My experience was in the spa and my experience was horrendous. First off my massage therapist was at least 20 minutes late taking me back, not once apologizing for running behind. Secondly, by the time she got started with my 90 minute swedish massage it was at least 25-30 minutes past the start time alloted for my appointment. I specifically told her that i didn't want a lot of pressure because my muscles are sensitive and it was painful, and she proceeded to give me pressure like a deep tissue massage. When i complained that it was painful, she apologized and said my muscles were tight, and continued the deep pressure. I complained a number of times and the same thing happened. I was under an enormous amount of stress including dealing with the death of a friend, and instead of just staying quiet and doing my massage considering i told her i needed to just calm down and relax, she asked me about my stressed and made me talk throughout the entire time. When she finally finished, i looked at the clock and since she had run so late to start she had cut my massage short by at least 15-20 minutes. When i complained at the front desk that i wasn't going to pay for a massage time that i didn't get they argued with me, and insisted that the massage therapist said she only cut it short by 5 minutes or less. When i told them that was not the truth, it took a lot of aggravation on my part of getting the manager to finally take $15 off. I walked out of there much more stressed and not at all relaxed, when i was experiencing some of the worst stress of my life.
I myself am a licensed massage therapist and have been in the business 8 years. I have worked at many places and I have had many massages at many places, some good, some bad, but this was by far the worst experience I've had. I would not recommend wasting your time or money on a massage at this place. They are much better as a salon, but as a spa, they have no idea what they are doing, or how to keep their clients relaxed. I will never give them my patronage again.
- Pros: Good location, good parking
- Cons: Terrible Customer Service
Great cut & color
by Luckydog73 at Citysearch
I love my colorist (Monica) and my stylist (Risha). They are truly the genesis of tons of compliments on my hair every year. I've been with both of them for years and can't imagine anyone else taking care of my tresses. Maia is a terrific esthetician -- especially for those of us with really sensitive skin. My only complaint is that the salon doesn't turn away customers who arrive really late for appointments. Unless I'm the first appointment of the day, there's a good chance I'll be waiting 20 minutes beyond my appointment time for a cut. Be VERY clear with the front desk if you don't have time to spare.
- Pros: Love my colorist & stylist
- Cons: Appointments sometimes last for a long time
Time for a Makeover
by V Laws at Citysearch
This spa is in dire need of a makeover. The interior is dull, and worn out looking. The front desk staff are not very professional or inviting. They seem to preoccupied with their own personal conversations. My esthetician did a great job on my facial, eyebrows, and manicure. During my manicure someone from the front desk placed a post it note on the workspace letting the person know someone was coming in at 3:30 for a manicure. From that point on I felt like the esthetician rushed through the remainder of my manicure and changed her demeanor towards me. I have been to better spas in the US and abroad.
- Pros: Free parking
- Cons: Unprofessional staff
