Can't waif for change of ownership. The Tavern is run down and hasn't been fixed up in years, recently it has 12 healthcode violations with the state and there appears to be some problem with bacteria in the well and the ice. One of the owner's sons - Billy is in charge of making the food, but has no idea how to clean a kitchen. Although the local patrons are great, Billy is chasing them out. It's unfortunate as the place continues to go downhill.

Great Place, Less Filling. I've been to Locust Crest with friends about 5 or 6 times. My one friend has been going there on a regular basis for at least two years. We've always enjoyed ourselves, but whenever we go, we all end up saying the same thing...

We wish there was better food and some more choices on the menu. You can't turn on the TV these days without seeing some food show talking about how some hole-in-the-wall tavern or pub is blowing everyone away with their talented chef in the kitchen cranking out real food-- some interesting, almost-gourmet dishes.

I know I'd rather have an awesomely creative sandwich or appetizer to go with my usual two beers, rather than those same old lackluster, tasteless, overdone & boring chicken fingers they serve middle school kids for their school lunch.

The people that go to restaurants these days have a bit more sophisticated palate. That's just the way it is. Offer them a Reuben-- or a good crab cake-- a homemade bbq pork sandwich-- or maybe a moist salmon burger that was cooked by someone who actually knows what's what in a kitchen.

Variety is the spice of life. The menu is just too limited. Bring in a creative cook or chef. Give us more choices-- something different and creative for a change and you'll have more customers coming in more often. Locust Crest could be a gold mine and there'd be nothing like it around Gradyville if you'd just get some inspiration going in the kitchen.
