Editorial Review for Daddypops – by Lauren McCutcheon
In Short
On Saturday mornings, this small diner is the heart of suburban Hatboro. Flks line up out the door and down the steps, where a big old-looking clock reminds them how long they've been waiting. Inside, locals occupy booths, tables and counter stools. You'll find all-American, eminently affordable diner food, with sides of scrapple, grits, big helpings of onion-laced hash browns and decent coffee. Huge, fluffy flapjacks reveal a hint of cinnamon--get a short stack.

Weekends just aren't complete without a breakfast from Daddypops. A slice of nostalgia found in Hatboro. Daddypops is an authentic, stainless steel "Mountain View" model diner built in New England in the early 1950's. As such, it has a limited number of booth seats, with counter service as well. Antique barber shop chairs adorn each corner of the counter & interesting knick-knacks are seen throughout. Daddypops has everything that makes it a true diner. Great coffee, great food, efficient waitresses and good conversation. Of course, the success of any real diner comes from the customers that frequent her and they don't get any better than the townies of Hatboro. The only fault is that due to the small size of Daddypops, there are no seperate sections. Non-smokers, like my wife & I, must deal with all the cigarette smoke that you just can't avoid. But, it's well worth it !
Pros: excellent food, great service, friendly customers
Cons: smoking only, limited seating, long waits to enter
