Tips for Yangming

Upscale chinese food with an unmistakable country-club feel.. In Short
Pastel restroom wallpaper bears a striking resemblance to vintage Pucci print. Fresh ingredients and professional preparations create better-than-fast Chinese fare. The sea bass in rice paper with wasabi and tempura-battered Ahi tuna are good bets, but stick to classics like seafood with vegetables in a noodle basket and crunchy shrimp with honey walnuts.

User review by gantrioch. I ate at Yangming for the first time today, since I had a gift certificate burning a hole in my pocket. I was pleasantly surprised. While the food was very Americanized, I think that the overall tastes were combined very well.

The wonton soup was good but nothing spectacular while the spring rolls were very, very Chinese. I'm more used to Vietnamese spring rolls which makes sense since I'm Viet :-).

My entree was the filet mignon with haricot verts, maitake mushrooms, something that looked and tasted like three potato pierogies, and a red wine reduction. The green beans were somewhat heavily salted but I realize that this was both for taste, obviously, and for texture. I believe that they use sea salt. I was astonished at the amount of maitake mushrooms on my plate, since even with large/bulk purchases they can run sixty dollars a pound.

I recommend Yangming.

Have to disagree with the Editors. Sure it is Main Line and sure there are timid diners there, but the range of offerings is expansive. I have eaten there over fifty times and have never had a bad meal. Go! You will enjoy. Great for take out when you want to eat in. I love their shrimp offerings in particular. Always a pleasure and you are always welcomed warly and personally.

Impressive decor, lovely food........ I was at Yangming recently after a 10 year absence. I honeslty can't explain why I waited so long in returning! The place is lovely -- and fills up quickly -- and the overall service is wonderful.

True, it is pricey for Chinese...but when you can find something that is 5-star dining, it is worth the price! I'm vegetarian, and they created something that was not on the menu to accomodate me. I plan on making more returns!

La creme de la creme. I have been going to Yangming Restaurant for years, and I have seen the good, the bad, and the best. Service has always been superb, the food just keeps getting better, and now they have added a parking lot! SO, head on over to Yangming and eat to your hearts content!

Not Meant for Banquets. This was the first time I ate at Yangming. It was my friend's wedding. This restaurant definitely wasn't designed for banquets. The main dining banquet room and the stage/dance floor were two separate rooms. Half of the guests in the dining room couldn't see the stage at all. The main dining room should hold only 100 people, yet there were 160 of us squeezed in without room to walk. I would go back for a regular dinner, but would warn my friends not to hold any more banquets there.

Best Restaurant-Anywhere!. From start to finish, this place is the best. We have been there about 6 times in the last two months, and it just keeps getting better. On a couple of weekend nights, we had to wait for a table. But Jim and Matt behind the bar were so much fun, it was hard to get up when our table was ready. Try a chocolate martini or one of their house special cosmopolitans. The food is always great, and the service is phenomenal. Always a great experience.

Tastey, quality Chinese food. Tastey chinese food, nice environment, good service, no reservation are neccesary, have been to lots of Chinese restaurants and Yang Ming competes with the best of them. Dress code isnt so important...would go at least in khakis...dress to impress if possible.
