A Pleasurable Experience. I was looking for a place to take my sister for her birthday and ran across a favorable review for the Richlandtown Inn on City Search and decided to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised!

First , I called for some general information. The women who answered the phone suggested I make a reservation for Friday night. I explained that we would be celebrating my sister's birthday. She asked if I would like for them to bake a cake. I said "sure, that'd be great!" She asked "what kind" - I said "chocolate". She asked "what kind of frosting" - i said "white" and left it at that.

When we arrived our friendly hostess sat us and as she did, she whispered to me "which one's your sister?". I said, "the one with the red hair." Long story short:

The appetizers, the salad's and our meals were fabulous:! I had the Montreal New York Steak while my sister and my wife had the Fillet Mignon which they both loved. The steaks wee tender, flavorful and cooked to perfection. They don't have a children's menu but the staff was very accommodating to our 11 & 9 year old children and helped them pick something they both enjoyed -- our son had the meat ball pasta and our daughter had the chicken fingers.

The atmosphere was very relaxed, yet quite elegant. There was a very good jazz trio playing that night and we were seated with a good view of the band. The volume was perfect - not too loud and not too soft and their great playing just added the right touch of fun to the experience.

Soon they brought out the birthday cake (with candles) that was tastefully decorated beyond my expectations. The jazz trio sang a jazzy version of Happy Birthday to my sister and made her blush. Then our waiter took the cake to the kitchen and cut it for us and served it with a squiggle of sweet red sauce on each plate that made for a beautiful presentation.

We had a great time - were happy to find this place and will definitely return.

Home Sweet Home for Food. We eat here once a week: Fresh fish. Superb breadth of menu (from formal to bar food, and you can mix and match). Innovative cooking. All you can eat crab legs on Wednesdays. If you do not see it, just ask, Venunzio will likely make it for you. A very nice Sunday brunch. Friendly and homey in every way. Music many nights. Children are always welcome. An incredible range in the clientele.
