Extremely Unimpressive.
We came here on New Years Eve for an early dinner. When we arrived, there was not one person in the restaurant. The hostess asked us if we planned on eating quickly, since they had several reservations for later in the evening. She then reminded us that it was New Years -- as if it was a preposterous idea to come for dinner at a place in a strip mall without reservations. If we weren't so hungry, we would have left right then and there.
The food was not very impressive in the least, and had no authentic Thai feel to it. It tasted like an American's first attempt at making Thai food at home, (And we were almost certain they used frozen vegetables.) The atmosphere was also void of any Thai feel, and the horrible pink walls did not add to the experience in the least.
They did give us very prompt service. Being we were the only table in the restaurant -- it was the least they could do, and I cannot give them much credit for this.
If you are in the mood for really amazing and authentic Thai food, I would highly recommend making the trip into Lambertville to go to Siam on Main Street.
Best kept secret in Newtown. If this place stays empty, the best and healthiest restaurant in Newtown will close. I encourage anyone who loves Asian food to give this place a try. You will not be disappointed. The food is always fresh and the sauces are great. Try the spicy drunken noodles, the dumplings, and the stir fried asparagus. The food is good and good for you.
Lunch Menu. I enjoyed the food. The lunch menu could have a little more variety; however, the overall quality of the food was very good. I had the sweet basil with shrimp. It was very good and I would definitely reorder.
best thai. i dont know what this other person is talking about. i thought the decor was a good different. the food was amazing. i agree with the other person and say that the drunken noodles were great. also the pad thai, best pad thai i've had in the city so far
Voted worst dressed in Newtown. Decor should be ashamed of itself, but the food makes up for it. If only the tacky black lacquer furniture and pink flower table clothes would vanish, I'd go all the time. Try the Drunken Noodles for an entree and the combo plate for an app.! Great food!
