Exceptional Service-Great Selection. After visiting other speciality shops and being disappointed at the selection of gowns and rude salespeople, I decided to go to Sterlings. WHAT A PLEASANT SURPRISE. I was warmly greeted by salespeople who made me feel special. I was shown a beautiful selection, in all price ranges, from which I chose the perfect one. I needed alterations. The on-site alterations people did an exceptional job. To my surprise, there was a fine selection of evening bags and other boutique items. The salespeople helped me select the items that went beautifully with my gown.I met the owner who was both professional and knowledgeable. I didn`t walk out without browsing the great selection of daywear. Needless to say I couldn`t resist walking out with a couple more items. What a wonderful experience.

Beautiful Dresses - Great Service. If you are getting ready for a special event, you must go to Sterling's in New Hope. They offer fabulous one-of-a-kind dresses and gorgeous evening wear. Seriously beautiful mother of the bride and day to evening wear. The selection really is quite phenomenal with some high end, but quite a few reasonable too. So much to choose from you won't want to leave!

I also learned that Sterling's has their own buyer that selects each design in NY. I don't think there is any other evening wear shop in the area that does this. And everything is updated and chic. I found the sales people to be extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the inventory and special order merchandise. They were down to earth, answered all my questions, no pressure.

Also, the alterations are on-site!! It is so convenient! I need alternations for everything I wear. I did pay extra, but Sterling's paid some of the cost, and most people know, alterations are never, ever included anyway. So the entire experience was streamlined and the seamstress is very good. You can trust her to alter your investment and you don't have to lug your dress around and go to someone who doesn't know how to work with evening gowns. So convenient. And my dress fit perfectly. I had so many compliments. And honestly, the owner is absolutely great. He really knows how to work with customers. I will definitely go back to Sterling's!

That Personal Touch. A warm helpful staff is there for your every need, which is lost in many retail establishments. I enjoyed the variety of choices. A full range of sizes, great style, and pricing. I happened to need a few things last minute and found the alteration department ready to accommodate and had my things ready in a day. They also have wonderful accessories including shoes, pocketbooks, and jewelry. I must say after working for a very high end store in the Phila area, I know what great customer service is about. BRAvO for Sterling's.

Shouldn't there be helpful staff at these prices???. This was my second time to Sterlings. I had gone 2 months ago looking for a MOB dress and the place was busy. I tried on some dresses that were so-so but at whoa! prices. I'm 5'3", 125 pounds.Normal. I tried on the smallest sizes available, mainly 12's. It is hard to imagine yourself in a dress when it falls off you. Clipping didn't help. The saleswoman said there was more. smaller sizes coming in daily. So I went back on a Tuesday. A few ladies buying shoes, I'm with my hubby dress shopping. I guess we were not dressed in ritzy enough clothes. No one approached us. Funny because we are both worth millions...And what is it with paying for parking? So I've paid $2 to not be waited on at a store that must only cater to tall, oversized women. Steer clear of here!

Poor Customer service. I saw a dress on-line that I loved for my daughters wedding. I contacted the manufacturer and found that only 4 stores in PA were shipped this dress. My daughter called Sterlings and confirmed that they did have the dress. When we arrived after a 3 hour trip we were greated by a salesperson. The dress happened to be on the first rack when I walked in. She carried the dress to the dressing room for me and then left me on my own. I had to ask for it to be zipped and clipped so I could attempt to see how it looked. I told her I wanted to look around before I made a final decision and she immediately asked me what my budget was and told me that the only dress under $500 was the one I had on and a few on the sale rack. I was walking around the store looking at the other dresses when the sales associate said to my daughter "where is your mother? She needs to take that dress off so I can sell it". We did take the dress off and we left the store. No need to purchase from someone with attitude. In addition they marked the dress up $65 above suggested retail. Maybe it is OK to treat the wealthy with attitude but it is not OK to treat the hard working middle class with attitude. My money is as green as the next guys. I will take my business elsewhere.

bad service. I went there to get a dress for my stepson's wedding. I had never gone to a "nice place " like that before. I ordered a dress for 750.00 and they gave me the floor sample without telling me. I returned it, and they did order one for me. My point is that they took advantage of me. THe sample dress was frayed in places. They treated me coldly after that and kind of ruined that experience for me. Sad.

Alterations not professional. This store has a very nice selection of dresses. I bought a Mother of the Bride dress there in the summer of 2007. The staff was helpful at first but then the attitude of the saleswoman changed once she has your check. I needed alterations to be done and they must be paid for in advance, which I think is inappropriate, but I complied. When I went to pick up the dress the workmanship was very unprofessional and sloppy. Looked like something that came out of a beginner home ec class in high school. I had to take the dress to someone else to undo what had been done and then had to pay $120 to have it fixed. I placed a call to the owner and left a message explaining my dilemma. Needless to say, I did not hear from them again. I would purchase another dress from there if necessary, but would NEVER have alterations done there again.

Worst Customer Service...EVER!. My mother just bought a dress at this store for my wedding. They have quite a large selection of dresses, which is the only pro to this store. The sales women on the sales floor are helpful...when you can actually get their attention! There are not enough workers to help all the customers. For this type of store, where the average cost of a gown is $500-2500, you should really have enough workers to help your customers find the perfect dress. Also, the owner has NO customer service skills. My mom & another shopper actually had huge arguments with this man (on 2 different days) about the fitting of their gowns & he completely makes his customers feel like they did something wrong, when I thought the customer is always right...in businesses that actually have good service skills. I would recommended steering clear of this store!!!! The owner has terrible customer service skills!

Fabulous customer service. I purchased a gown off the rack at Sterling's (needed something in less than one week). They had a large selection of gowns there (and anything else can be ordered in your size, time permitting). My saleswoman, Sylvia, was extremely helpful without being pushy. I bought the perfect dress on a Sunday and told them I needed it by Saturday of the same week. They had it altered, pressed and ready to go on MONDAY (24-hours later). The seamstress took my gown home with her to alter it so that I could have it in time! The alterations were absolutely perfect.

Prices ran the gamut. There were several sales racks for the bargain hunters (with some couture gowns up to 1/2 off) as well as full priced items. The lines included Tadashi, Montage for Mon Cheri and Jovani.

The selection is huge and the service is first rate.
