The food is overpriced and not that good. They are way overrated and definitely not as good as El Cactus which is right down the road. It is not kid friendly at all and they don't even offer you a free round of chips and salsa. The staff is snobbish and its not a friendly environment. Don't waster your time or money!

This mexican eatery was recommended to us by several locals, so we gave it a shot. First, living in Los Angeles for four years, my rating of Mexican food is tough. In Los Angeles, one can get a great Mexican meal almost in any neighborhood. That said, The place is cute. Well decorated, one feels like being in a little, Mexican town. Staff was friendly and quick. The food however was average. Although is seems authentic, its not as flavorful as many other Mexican places we have eaten at. And now, the reason for a negative review: price. Come on guys, dinner for two, no drinks, two dishes and two bowls of soup = $63.00 (with 20% tip)? That's a lot for Mexican food, really. Being Italian (my favorite food) I wouldn't even spend that much. One dish alone was $19.00, for rice and chicken? The kicker is, no chips and salsa served?? That is like gong to and Italian restaurant and not getting served fresh bread. For people who don't mind spending too much for Mexican food and live close, I would say try it. If it was less expensive for what you got, I would have given it an extra star.

I go here several times a year and the food has never disappointed. The atmosphere is festive so go elsewhere if you are looking a quiet dinner. If you are looking for authentic Mexican then there is no other place. Their enmoladas, enfrijoloadas, mole poblano and tampiquena dishes will never disappoint. Great Maguaritas and mixed drinks. Expect to wait if you go on a weekend night and expect to pay more than you would for an evening at a "Tex Mex" type of restaurant.
