Sitting on the ground floor of the swanky Aria condos at 15th and Locust, Tietra is a Center City crowdpleaser that nails the middle ground between Italian and that broader, more general "Mediterranean" designation that both owners and patrons are so fond of. That's because in addition to classics like a caprese salad stack, chicken marsala and pasta bolognese, Middle Eastern and North African influences pop off the menu to say hi (merguez sausage, hummus and pita, even kebab). Poke around both disciplines at the solid walnut bar, where pre- and post-theater crowds congregate for cocktails and chatter.
